It is basically an adhesion promoter. Helps keep the vinyl from lifting on the edges, especially when its pulled tight around corners and such.

Ground point maintenance is important. Some grounds are relatively stable as they aren’t exposed to the elements (behind panel in cargo area), but ones low in engine bay have much exposure to water and salts. These can have a decrease in their potential energy (V) across the transition point and components grounded to them can have potential dysfunction. In these highly electrically sophisticated cars it can become an issue. My X5 is my DD just east of Lake Ontario in upstate NY. Lots of brine on roads for months.

Add: On this new.tis link you can see the components grounded at one specific ground point. Some components have very significant function.

Per the VIN decoder, yes it is.

S4MU Fine woodgrain, eucalyptus bar, rotbraun

One of the reasons I wrapped instead of painting, I or the next owner can remove the wrap at anytime and the trim is perfect underneath!

Today I had my detail place remove the front side door badges and a hand wash. I should have had them install the front IND pieces, but i'm waiting to install my fender arches at the same time.

Few hours later... Looks so aggressive, changes the whole look!
Dito - Knew it would fit because the x5 hoods share the same part #'s as the normal x6 hoods.

Love it the look, my next mod. If you don’t mind me asking, what was the cost and where did you source the hood?

Thank you. Was on ebay listed as "black" and pick-up only. Got clarification it was in fact BSM and convinced them to ship it! Cost 1.6k shipped out of Ohio. I had been on the hunt for a while, glad you weren't searching ebay, what are the chances lol.

Much appreciated! Even better than I imagined. The design goes very well with the lci + aero pack. The bottom lip indents perfectly with the hood cowl, really ties it together. Pretty cool looking from the cabin while driving as well.

F15 led fog light retrofit and painted flares should finish off the body mods nicely..

Very nice and pricey, does it fit all E70 models or just LCI? I have a 2009
And just to confirm, is that from a X5M?

Only was available on 13-14 X6M. Pretty sure it will fit any E70/E71 model.
Grills are interchangeable as well.

They are so easy to switch out I may keep my stock one around for long road trips to swap back to preserve the power dome.

Looks incredible, nice find!

You answered my question... If your original is in decent shape, I might be interested if the paint color is the same. That said keeping it for longer trips is a good call!

Care to explain how swapping them back and forth preserves the"Power Dome"? Does it mean that the quality of the new hood is inferior than stock?

No, he's referring to the fact that since it sticks up, it's much more likely to get chipped up by stones/ debris on the road. Look at you hood- the front area around the grills is much more susceptible to chips than the flat top.

Going to try and find a safe place for it in the garage, if not I will definitely hit you up, it's in great shape!

It's been a good month for my X - Just got these replica's in today. They are the brand new 747M that come on the M performance G05 but these are 5x120 to fit our cars. It's why I'm selling the 599m's. I do wish they were as concave as the 599's but can't wait to see the brakes behind them! Attached a little teaser!

Think the powerdome and these wheels fit the platform better than the cars they were originally designed for. What do you guys think? Love the E70!!
