New (to me) X5 and Window Shade Parts?
We just picked up a 2013 X5 35i this weekend and are really enjoying it. The car is missing a few trim bits here and there, most of which I was able to find on RealOEM, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with bits for the rear door window shades (vizors)? I found the part numbers for the missing hooks, but one side is also missing the tab that stops the shade from rolling back into the doorframe. Looking at the parts catalog, it doesn't appear to be a separate part, but rather part of the (not so inexpensive) shade. Anyone come up with an alternative? See the photo for the bit I'm referring to. Thanks.

My money is on the rear passenger who accidentally let the thing snap down so hard it broke the tab off and went to hide in the door recess. It could have been one of my boys!
Do you know if the screen is still inside the door? I can't think of a cheap proper fix, unless you had the tab piece and could attach it somehow. If you can get the screen up out of the door perhaps drill a little hole in that top bar and thread something through it like a pull tab or key ring, something large enough to stop it from falling in the door slot. I know, not terribly OEM, but I know a new shade will be costly.

I was able to grab the shade with a hook and pull it out. For now, I'm leaving it up on the hooks. I'll have to examine the connection more closely, but my first thought is that I might be able to use a watchband pin and fabricate my own pull tab.

eBay maybe?
There are whole roller shades like these https://www.ebay.com/i/232505113373 And I found window clips for the E53, not sure if the E70s are similar https://www.ebay.com/i/151901517328 Some have also lucked out at rockauto.com

As far as I know, just the tab is not available OEM. And according to the post above, you might have luck in the aftermarket.
