Searched near and far to see if anyone had ever tried upsizing their 22" tires to improve ride comfort. Could not find anything.

My previous 22" staggered setup was 295/30R22 (F) and 335/22R22 (R). I went with these based on a recommendation from BBS to maintain similar diameters to stock (within 1% tolerance).

While these were okay and wider compared to stock (more planted ride), comfort was compromised, especially with EDC on.

That said, I thought to instead size up on the tire profiles to the current X5 22" staggered setup, which was 3% larger than the stock E70 diameter. Fully aware that the speedometer would therefore underestimate speed.

I went with the stock G05 Continental Premium Contact tires, 275/35R22 (F) and 315/30R22 (R). Not having a set to compare in person at any local retailer, I was worried about tire stretch on the SVs, (widths being 10.5" F and 11.5" R). Turns out that it was not the case and the tires fit perfectly.

FYI I am running 15 / 20 mm spacers F / R and the wheels perfectly fit the wheel arches with the H&R 1" springs / links. Photos included below for anyone interested.

Ride quality has improved significantly and should have done this sooner.

Glad it helped, exactly to help fellow members who may ultimately wonder the same thing.

Where did you get the SV from? I am currently looking for set, if my local guy falls through I might use an online source. The M looks great with them on.

I'd suggest getting them from established dealers like IND or Tire Rack. They ship directly from BBS anyway, so doesn't matter who you purchase from. Keeping in mind too I repainted mine from the satin titanium to silver.
