I find the acceleration is much better in Sport mode than shifting paddles, if you push it it will just about reach rev limiter every time. I find the paddles frivolous because I have to watch the tach or let the transmission shift if you hold out too long (hence back to Sport mode). Also eventually the transmission reverts back to D mode from M after some time and certain conditions. Sport is great for me, much greater acceleration with confidence, I find the D mode to be a bit of a slug with the six cyl. motor.
