JB4 keeps saying user adjustments and settings corrupt.
Also getting Lambda error code 2C24
Lambda sensors swopped
Will remove JB4 completely

I've also just completed this upgrade also,

My wagon is the 5.0 Xdrive and currently I have the following completed.

F10 M5 Headers
F10 M5 Turbos
Straight Race downpipes installed.
ESS tuned
Custom charge pipes made to keep the original diverter valve which currently vent to atmosphere. These will be changed soon to electronic Turbosmart blow off valves.

My friend and I are currently waiting to fabricate a custom intake filter pipes to drop in somewhere behind the hood grills.

A note on the above post, I have the F10 M5 intercoolers and they defo don't fit. They are simply to big and also they have two areas of recirculating the coolant through each intercooler. I suppose either a bypass system or a loop system could be fabricated to make them work but I don't know where they would fit in such a tight space.

Definitely a lot better and the turbo response is better than the stock X6 turbos, I have noticed better torque now thats its been ESS tuned. I have Race Downpipes straight though the X pipe to a Akrapovic rear quad exhaust, the turbo whistle is definitely louder.

The next upgrade will be intercoolers, once I find a space in which to install / fit them I should notice an improvement as the F10 M5 intercoolers have a better flow rate. I am thinking that I will try to fit them somehow in front of the oil coolers behind the front bumper. It will require a little finesse to squeeze them in.... but I won't know until I remove my front bumper and look at doing some relocating ??

Once the intercoolers have been fitted I will arrange a dyno to see how the power increase has changed and of course will post some pictures and the dyno chart.

For anyone who is thinking of doing the swap I can only advise that it can be expensive, I was lucky enough to buy a complete F10 M5 that had a damaged engine and the owner did not want to pay to have it repaired so I managed to take the whole car for around 5000 dollars. and I am still selling parts from that car to recuperate some expenses back.

Worth while?? The M5 turbos have a better reputation and life span in my opinion compared to the X6 turbos which was one of the main reasons for me wanting to make the swap, and everything is pretty much bolt off bolt on apart from my custom charge pipes to accommodate my electronic Turbosmart BOV's. I guess the only downfall now is the slight smell of petrol due to the race downpipes overall..

Hope this helps any forum members and feel free to PM guys if you need any help with your install.

I'd like to see your charge pipes setup. I've tried venting to atmosphere before and would get a CEL the moment they had to actuate. In the meantime I bought a set of DV+'s but I've yet to install them.

Hello m5james,
Greetings from Germany ;-)

I would also like to install a M5 F10 exhaust manifold in my X5M E70 and have questions about this ;-)

Do the exhaust manifolds of the M5 F10 fit 1: 1 plug and play?
Or does something have to be changed?

greeting
Alexander

Would love to know if we can install F10 M5 intercoolers on the X5M. That would be a good help for the car in our 50c Plus temps

I think it was concluded that the F10 M5 turbos and mannys mated up with no issues, but tuning is definitely required.

Some thread here advised they swapped left and right o2 connections and saw functionality with no tuning, but there is no way in hell I would count on that.

This has been talked about a bunch here. Insert dick comment about using search, but really I'm just too lazy to also do that and link you.

Me and my friend did the work, and yes at the minute the diverters vent to atmosphere but I am currently installing some turbo smart vent to atmosphere electric blow off valves.

Not in the factory location, I am currently fabricating some longer charge pipes so that my F10 M5 intercoolers can be located nearer to the side vents behind the from bumper.

Agreed, I went for an ESS tune. After spending a little time explaining my set up to the guys over at ESS they took care of my needs. I took the car out for a test drive after I completed manifold and M5 turbo swap. The car pulled hard a lot harder than standard and for longer. The torque is fantastic..... I think I should see a little more once I've completed the M5 intercooler and twin direct cone air filters swap as airflow should be freely moving rather than stacking in our smaller standard intercoolers.
