Adv.1 nightmare

Adv.1 is living up to its bad rap...
I ordered a 9k set of wheels in July and paid a extra 1k to have them built and delivered within 4 weeks. Well the sent me wheels in the 4 weeks but not my wheels to add insult to injury one wheel was damaged as a result of faulty tmps installed by their vendor and they charged me another 2k to replace it, Now 11k into this and now on week 12 and I still have no wheels and they have been paid in full.
When I ordered in july they guaranteed a full refund of my 1k fee if they did not deliver in time but now they are refusing to refund my 1k. I still don't have my wheels 12 weeks in , they are giving me and the supplier different excuses why they are not done yet.
When I talk to them they admit they manufactured and shipped wheels different than I ordered in fact for a different vehicle entirely but refuse to give me the expediting fees back they told me they should if never guaranteed a 4 week delivery because it was next to possible. That statement alone tells me they had no intention of delivering on time. I don't think that is to much to ask for in fact they told me they scrapped the wheels they originally sent so I should get the 2k additional they charged me back to.

I spoke to the sales rep and when I asked to speak to jordon ( his boss)he kept ignoring my request. After asking several times he finally said he would have him call me later that day and guess what no one called.

So adv.1 this is in your court - what are you going to do?are you going to get me my wheels and refund me the money you owe? I'm sure everyone on here will be interested to see.

why don't you contact your credit card company. for 11k you can get a nice Honda civic used. Sorry to hear this, this really really sucks.

Wow, i feel bad for you. Try to resolve it with them, if it does not come to your satisfaction, then you should file complain with Attorney General office for consumer fraud perhaps. There is a web side for legal advice in your case, pm me.
Good luck

Mr. Larkin,

Here is a response from Jordan concerning your issue:

Quote:
This is surprising to see a public complaint like this, however as usual I now have to post a formal response, see below:

Order placed through one of our retail outlets in the Chicago area, Howey Industries on 7/10/12
Order was complete and shipped on 7/31/12, 21 days later.
Wheels were engineered and machined to our usual x5 / x6 BMW widths and et's: 22x10.5+20 / 22x12.0+15 as seen on countless other vehicles previously completed.
Client reports wheels are too aggressive.
8/15/12: We kindly agree to provide a brand new set for him using revised higher et's as requested: 22x10.5+32 / 22x12.0+26
9/19/12 @2:23pm: I receive email from sales rep stating that client demands to speak to me, I explained I would contact him today as I was in meetings all afternoon pertaining to sema planning and design.
9/20/12: wheels are ready to ship.
9/20:12 @11:10am: I receive call from sales rep informing me of this thread.

Mr. Larkin,

I will be in touch with you today, we do appreciate your business very much however a public outburst like this is not necessary at all. We're not forcing anyone to buy wheels here, if you don't want them we'll gladly take them back if you'd like. Talk to you shortly.

Adv.1 - that's a piss poor reply. You should have taken care of this long before now. He has every right to have an "outburst" as you say based on you service. Also, that is no way to address a customer who has just spent $12k with you. Get it together

response to adv.1

Jordon,
You facts are incorrect, Your company built and shipped wheels for a x5m not a x6m which have different hub bore sizes and well as different offsets. You have already admitted to your mistake numerous times. The x5m has wheel arch extensions so the offsets are about 16mm difference which is huge.
The set you sent was incorrect bore size and wrong offsets. The problem is not that you made a mistake it is how you handled it. I would love to speak to you about this. I think you should know what and how you name is begin represented. I have been attempting to get this resolved for 8 weeks now with no result so this is why I had no choice but to result to this forum. I look forward to your call and will post our outcome here for all to know.
Best regards,
DL

Jordon-here is you fitment. pictures don't do it justice. They are sticking past the fender about 3/4 to 1". They look like a 1980 lowrider. Is this what you consider proper fitment? And no I do not have them on my car. [ATTACH]

Jordon from adv.1 just called me back and he agreed with my request. He said wheels are complete and are shipping today. Now to wait and see if they follow through. I am skeptical based on my experience-I will keep the thread updated with progress.

To me it sounds like everyone is jumping on the bash ADV bandwagon

I had a set on my X6M and was extremely happy. The offsets are aggressive and look great for it. Also they are the same for X5M/X6M so not sure what your issue is without seeing pics.

When I switched to VRS wheels I installed spacers to get the offsets right so I'm confused with the issue you seem to have.

OP it seems that you got your wheels in less than 4 weeks. I would be interested to see pictures of the wheels when you fitted them so we can all see what the issue was. This would a fairer way of reporting in a public forum

The fact that you weren't refunded the expedited fee is quite understandable.

I'm quite sure adv is not embarking on an international conspiracy to defraud the international community. I'm getting tired of reading all these slanderous threads written by youngsters who use the forums to incite support in strong arming a vendor.

Adv design pretty awesome wheels. If they didn't you wouldn't have ordered them in the first place?

Good luck with your replacements, I'm quite sure you will be happy at the end of the day

^^ How is he being slanderous for reporting what happened to him. Do you work for ADV1 Then how can you be so sure what ADV1's intentions are?

As someone who has been on these forums way too long, I see it time and time again where companies drag their feet in responding to customer issues until a public thread about it starts.

An expedited fee was for expedited service, something he didn't get, so why should that money not get refunded?

Bob -You are mistaking regarding x5m and x6m wheels, they are not the same. The non m x5 and x6 and the x6m share the same offsets the x5m has an additional fender lip that extends out about 1" so the x5m offsets are about a 16mm different than x6m also the hub bore is larger on a x5m. The wheels the shipped stuck out past the fender almost a inch.
I did post pictures on this thread so Take a look for yourself.
Adv has admitted to manufacturing and shipping the wrong wheels, the only reason I posted publicly is I had been trying to get this resolved for 8 weeks and the sales rep just blamed the vendor and the vendor blamed the rep and we were getting nowhere. I don't care who made the mistake- I just want what I ordered and should not be charged any additional- that is all.

Fair enough mate. I'm on my iPhone so couldn't see any pic attached. My bad. In circumstances they should refund you the expediting fee and possibly even pass a discount/credit for the f around.

Alternatively just get all your money back since they did offer that to you.

VRS wheels are great. Go that route instead since they also half the price.

Think I paid $7500 with scorpion zeros from Nate at IND

Um, I'm pretty sure the X6,X6M, and X5M wheels are all the same. It is the standard X5 wheels that are different. At least from everything I have read.

I think the main problem here is OP spending 12g on a set of adv.1 wheels. For 12g you could of gotten a nice set of HREs, Asantis or Forgiatos ..then have them gold plated.

Those specs are direct from BMW. Also from everything I have read. The Hub bore size is different on the rears of the standard X5 - that's really all that is different. But as noted, the X5M/X6M/X6 all share the same hub bore and offsets.

Is it possible they made you wheels for the older X5?
