2011 BMW X5 xDrive50i - 125,000m
Hello,
I have owned this car for almost 3 years now, with a love/hate relationship. I got the V8 because I use it to tow a ski/wakeboard boat, which it is great, you can hardly tell the boat is back there when towing. Love/hate is due to the gas consumption :-( but oh well. I just want to share the following: In the last couple of months or so, the car developed a bit of a "jerk push" when shifting in the low gears, I think 2nd and 3rd, not noticeable when coasting on the highway. There was also a bit of hesitation, almost like there was not enough gas getting to the engine. Someone on the bmw forums described the "jerking" as if you were hit in the rear bump (small touch). Anyhow, after a lot of research, which brings me to thank all the people who post issues and solutions, the issue kind of pointed to the 'transfer case" People were recommending to do an oil change and/or the "transmission adaptation reset". So I finally got to it, I did the TC oil change but then I made the mistake of doing the trans adaptation reset at the same time. At this point, I am not sure which procedure fixed it because the jerking and hesitation are gone. The car drives smooth again. I hope this helps someone out there. |

Hi everyone! I passed the 100,000 mile mark just after my road trip from D.C. back to South Florida! Here are some pics from my recent road trip to St. Simons Island, GA.
She is currently sitting at 102,400 miles and running beautifully! Only challenge I'm dealing with at the moment is a stubborn seat calibration fault. |

138,272 this morning. I bought her about 5 years ago. had 75,000 on the clock. A small list of repairs done: coolant hose, starter motor, coil packs and oil leaks. Nothing major. Just drove from DC to Martha's Vineyard and back. Man she feels good on the road!!!

X5 with 150,000 Love it!!!!
I absolutely love my BMW. It has been great to me and my family and I got it for a steal 2 years ago. a non BMW dealer was selling it for 14,000 with 90,000mi. I brought my Carly adapter and scanned it before I made my offer i was able to talk them down to 11,000 it had a few codes and some noise in the front end. I did some research and the codes that were present we related to a failing battery. I got them to throw inn a 6 month warranty to boot. I replaced the battery and after 30 days had them replace the front wheel bearings under warranty, since then only tires needed!!! Just last week i changed my transmission fluid for the third time in two years. The car drove beautifully, it was late and I took it for a nice long spin it was great. I made sure my fluid was just a drip out the fill hole with the trans at 110 degrees fahrenheit. The next morning the car wouldn't start, the battery was fairly drained and I had 33 faults according to carly?????? this is where I'm at now with my wonderful BMW that is now a very nice paper weight until i can get this nailed down. any input would be greatly appreciated.
