Extended Warranty = what company and anyone have this one?
I am considering a purchase of a 2012 35i - and I am researching Extended Warranties. Mostly bad reviews and I know EXTENDED warranties outside of BMW are not the greatest.
One I am considering is called Cars Protection Plus. You can only purchase it through a dealer and the Better Business Bureau gives it an A+ RATING. They have been in business since 1998 as well. But the google reviews are terrible. There are 5 different packages and I am sure some people bought the lower packages and things werent covered so they will complain. Wondering if anyone here on our Forum has this companies Extended Warranty and could provide some details about their experience? http://www.carsprotectionplus.com/about-cars/ |

I have Route 66 and I'm not really happy with it. They don't cover hoses or gaskets and only paid for half of my water pump. After over $5000 of work, they covered $400.

Kind of explains why Route 66 no longer covers BMW X5's! I called them for a quote and they no longer will cover any X series. |

Did you get a lower level warranty from them? I don't know their warranties much but a good friend of mine who's on this forum and may chime in, has Route 66 and they've covered a ton of stuff on his 50i. |

I currently have Route 66 and they've been unbelievable with the coverage. (Bushings replaced, oil leak - gasket, thigh support motor, shaft sensor) I also had my water pump fail (no surprise) and they covered the entire thing less fluid etc. All work done @ dealership too.

Sounds like they were taking a beating from the cost. Yours was probably a perfect case = = glad it worked out for you! |

Yours is the first street plan, and it’s an inclusionary plan (meaning only items in the list are covered). I’m afraid you didn’t do your due diligence and paid $$ for a very limited plan. Route 66s stopped offering the easy street for X’s sometime in 2016. They’re covering what’s in the contract, so throwing shade at them is unwarranted IMO. |

I got a quote from Endurance, $226 for the first 30 days, then $179/month for 24 months. total coveage is for 5 years/75,000 miles pretty much bumper to bumper except for brakes, steering, suspension, etc.
I guess you can cencel also and it is tranferable to. |

Is that considered their best package? My quote is $2400.00 - 4 years unlimited miles. Apparently covers everything besides tires, brakes, rotors, etc. |

I just picked up an '12 X5M and am looking for the same thing.
From all the reading I've done (which mostly just seems like horror stories ) I will be looking into: USAA CarChex EasyCare Also through all the reading, doesn't seem like there is a right answer -- and with each one your mileage may vary...see what I did there? |

CNA as others have stated here seems to be great but you need to get it through a dealer. USAA - not sure if they are still covering the X5? Route 66 which some members have the coverage (different levels) seemed to be strong on the highest coverage but they have dropped the X5. Good luck and let us know what you decide. |

It is the only package for the X5 they offer. I have 80k on a 2012.

i received redshield insurance through the dealer i got my x6m at, so far they've replaced a oil pressure switch that was leaking, the exclusionary warranty was 4000 for 24k miles, 2 years.
haven't had any warranty calls other than that, but they seemed pretty straightforward. I read alot of bad reviews with one of carchex warranty companies "American Autoshield" and that was the only one carchex offered me, since carchex is a warranty broker. in the past, endurance has always done me solid 100% as long as you get the exclusionary warranty. |
