Random Battery drain?
Ive had my x5 for almost 2 years. Battery in the car is 3 years old. Every now and then i get a battery drain light. It happened a few months ago after towing my trailer for about 2 hours. After being parked for 2 days when we went to leave campground it had the battery drain lihght. Car fired up and no issues. Had battery and charging system checked and all checked out. No problem for a few months. This month (December) it came on randomly after sitting for 2+ days. No worries I rode for about an hour or so and all seemed fine. Went out on xmas eve and it was DEAD. put it on charger and it charged til charge was complete. Drove it today for an hour or so and took battery out of car and I've been testing it every hour. its been at 12.65 volts and hasnt moved in 4 hours. So to me battery is not the issue. Now I'm assuming its the IBS sensor. Anyone else have any ideas. Can you test the IBS sensor?

Most common situation for me over 5 E70s has been a failing door/lock sensor of the comfort access (or whatever that feature is called) draining the battery.
In the short term, you can defeat that function by holding the key near the windshield (think at or over the glass, near an A pillar) when locking the vehicle with the fob. No guarantee it's the issue, but probably worth a shot. |

Today I noticed that the drivers window doesn't do the auto roll up. Meaning you used to be able to click the window once and it would roll all the way up now you have to hold it. Could this be part of the issue? All the other windows still work like normal.

Did you have the drivers door open when you tried putting the window up? It won't auto roll up if you have the door open

I have been dealing with a similar issue on my 09 E70 - high battery drain after 2-3 days of not driving. Had my trusted indy diagnose the problem and they couldn’t find anything. Then, I had software updated hoping the problem would go away - no luck. Then, I did parasitic test myself with a multimeter - didn’t find any parasitic draw. Oh, three months ago I had battery changed and that didn’t help either. I think I’m just going to live with this problem. I put the car on a trickle charger after 2 days or so.
