August 23, 2018... Munich, New York, San Francisco and Beijing - four cities, three continents in just five days. We are presenting the BMW Vision iNEXT World Flight in cooperation with Lufthansa Cargo, a revolutionary way of showcasing our latest vision vehicle to the world.

“iNEXT is our mobility proposition for the future, so it’s only logical that the BMW Vision iNEXT should be presented to a global audience in a fresh new style,” said Klaus Fröhlich, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Development.

In close cooperation between Lufthansa Cargo and the BMW Group team, the BMW Vision iNEXT will travel across the globe showcasing our vision of the future of mobility in an exclusive closed-room showcase, inside the plane.

The modified Boeing 777F of the Lufthansa Cargo fleet has been customised to suit as a portable exhibition for the highly anticipated BMW Vision iNEXT. The exterior design of the aircraft is reminiscent of the interior design of the vehicle presentation.

So they use the most environmentally inefficient vehicle to support their efficiency brand?

Wonder why LH has used the plane in the old livery for this...

Hopefully they got the message that the new livery is boring and are switching back?

More likely IMO that this was planned before the rollout of the new livery and would have added extra expenses to update.

You are late to the party BMW, driving this baby around. The future is here with i-pace from Jaguar.

Even though Lucas is defunct, I'm still leery about any British electric car. ;-)

Wrong, those cargo ships that haul crap all over the world are far more inefficient and worse for the environment.

Looks to me That BMW came up with this stunt by trying to cut corners and save money...

Instead of trying to reserve four different venues and setting up and tearing things apart four times, which would cost a fortune in terms of transportation to and from the airport,

They chose to leave the entire setup on the airplane, and just have to plane go to four places...

Faster and cheaper....

pretty sure the "future" should be defined by a car that can do better than a 65% of the claimed WLTP range.

i'm sure BMW will do better with iNEXT vs the debacle of i3 and i8. I'm hoping I can get rid of my model 3 and get back into a proper BMW EV in the near future.

Again you are late to the party. The SW was update last Friday. This is the finished FW, and it does give this car the correct range. Last week this was mentioned in a pressrelease. ;-)

I'm hoping they come up with a less tacky name for the production version.
