I believe you can still find this guys post on the forum. As I recall he experienced some odd driving characteristics when vented to the atmosphere. Keep it classy! |

I was looking around and found these. Go fast bits DOV, Another X5M owner on instagram told me. "The screws that came with the DV would not work. So I matched up the factory screws with "Tapcon" screws. Worked perfect. They have the blue heads." Idk if they make the swoooosh! Sound tho.

Nope, the DV+ is not a blow off valve. Its just a billet diverter valve, for cars who are running higher boost and want a more reliable replacement to the rubber diaphragm DV's that can tear from increased temps when running turbos outside their efficiency range (typical tuned car).
I've actually had one of these and run it on my 2011 GTI with K04 turbo. It works fine, but is not a BOV. P.S. Atmosphere venting of boost (blow off valve) reduces performance and increase lag all with the added benefit of additional noise? Why not just get a cheap bluetooth speaker and wire it into your OBD port and run a raspberry pi to watch for shifts and then it sends a sound through the BT speaker. Might be cheaper and it won't hurt performance. |

I agree that his filter placement is terrible. Too bad RK hasn't come down on price to move multiple units vs trying to make all their money off a handful of them. I've got a custom made intake and the BOV sound is awesome so I'm curious what could be done to add more.

You will run rich if you convert or remove the bpv the intake system and computer account for the additional air flow coming ... would not recommend without proper tuning.

For like .5 seconds, basically the time it takes for the DV to recirc the air...while off throttle. I haven't tried it myself, but I can't imagine damage will be caused.

Resetting your adaptation might help the engine adjust to the new flow of air. |

Thank you, sir...it was made at a shop in CA, loosely based off the stock design from the E70 4.8l with BMC #FBTW80-151 filters covered in K&N water stocks. While I haven't dyno proven their performance, they sound amazing...the GF just knows what I'm going to do in every tunnel now
