On the valve outlet there is no muffler its straight pipe, on the other oulet I installed the smaller muffler that came with the system just so you keep a normal sound for normal everyday driving.

No need to cut both top and bottom. My shop was able to just cut the top and weld in the straight pipe. (see pics below). What they did was weld the straight pipe in 2 halves. Pretty ingenious if you asked me. I have vids, just need to edit and compile them.

By doing it the way your shop did it you are not getting the full effect. First you kept the bigger muffler on the normal mode second in four places the factory mufflers were not welded the pipes were just put together so you missed it in two places (please see the attached pictures) and as you can see on the pictures I highlighted that the whole shell served as a muffler and by doing it the way I did it its completely sealed welded and the shell does not serve anymore as a muffler. By the way let us know how its sounds.

I want to do this so bad - whats the degree of difficulty - should any reasonably competent muffler shop be able to do this?

Absolutely, if not, they should be avoided like the plague.

The only thing I would want to check out would be the person doing it, how good a welder they are, Not all muffler shops have welders who do a nice clean butt-joint. Even though you really cant see it I'd still like a nice clean weld myself, Another thing I would do, and I did this on my Mustang, I just couldn't take the silver mufflers on the car showing and just hit it with black VHT paint, been going strong and no need for touch-up for the last few years and its even so noticeable my wife comments how ugly other mustangs look when they aren't painted. Hey its a small thing, but Happy Wife, Happy Life..

I went to a lot of shops and no one did it for me because its a lot of cutting and welding so I asked a friend of mine that has the welding machine to help me do it, he did it for me.

I do a lot of stuff on the car my but this is one thing that I was not able to do. The muffler its thin and it doesn't take much to burn a hole on it and really mess it up.

I didn't notice that the large muffler wasn't completely sealed and the entire shell served as a muffler. Do you have pictures that illustrates this point?

It sounds just a tad louder and a little higher pitched after the install. I did start it without ANY muffler and it sounded amazing. Does your version of the muffler delete sound anything like NO muffler?

Can't wait to see and hear it in person! What is the pencil size piece of piping that appears to have been added to the one side on the the pipe where the straight stretch was added? I don't see it in the pictures where the shell is first opened so I assume its something you added?

Yes, 6 and 8. Does the hole go all the way through into the pipe so that exhaust can escape/resonate inside the shell? Or is just a support for the shell? I wonder what it's purpose is?

I see it is only on the bottom side.

Hey Rob,

I installed mine the other day. I like the sound a lot wish it was a little bit louder but that's why I have downpipes to install only complaint is the pipes could have been cut straighter when it was taken off the original vehicle.

I'm sorry about the cut but there was really not much I could of done. It was pre cut when I had the after market exhaust installed.
You have to admit that it's a big diffrence from the stock set up. Also the downpipes would add so much more exhaust note.
