I plan on installing GP Thunder 8500K H8 bulbs for the Angel Eyes and then get my truck coded so the AEs run on full power. This is a cheaper investment before I shell out >$245 for the Lux V3.

Stay tuned for pics.

It was too cold outside for me to setup my good camera to take better night shots. I did make some changes on my small camera to capture the rings only without the harsh brightness you generally get. It was toned down so the brightness is less than actual but you will get a good feel for them.

I also included the normal shots where the lights overpower the lens but that gives you a sense of their brightness as well.
ALPINE_X5, how was the install of these bulbs was there lots of wires to bunch up and hide inside the headlights itself. Looking to get these instead. Thanks

LUX H8 V3

Quick cell phone picture of the LUX H8 V3 angel eyes during daylight... Actually, I wasn't even trying to photograph the angel eyes when I snapped this pic. Very happy with them!

Lux in the day time, since this picture they have been coded for higher intensity.

The usual like the MTECH and the LUX. Some cars don't get as sensitive about the resistors as others. Some don't run it at all from what I have seen. I run resistors on mine. They tuck in easily enough. I taped mine up a little for a cleaner install. Once placed inside the housing it really doesn't get in the way. I do it to make sure things don't clank around from time to time.

If you are going for bulbs nothing to tuck.

I am not going to debate the merits of LUX vs Brand X. As some LUX owners want to jump on others for buying an inferior product. In the end we are not going to EVER get the effects of the newer LCI AE's or the Orions LED Rings. So it doesn't really matter. I am happy with mine and I still stand behind what I said about my LUX experience. LUX vendor you can say what you want but it is just hyperbole to me.

I am trying out one more brand because I can(I make nice with people and in return they make nice with me and give me a set of AE's to try). They are also claiming CREE SMD's as well with a whiter light and better LED's.

No skin off my nose. I have no horse in this race. I do it for my own curiosity and not to promote one over the other. If I feel that it's better then I am entitled to my own opinion. I have said LUX makes a good brand of AE's bulbs but I saw a greenish tint in mine so I went with another set and its not greenish to me. My eyes and my opinion. I feel that people are too strongly loyal to a brand even if they are proven inferior or equal in quality.

Ebay has proven this case many times over and has pissed off vendors over the years.

Whatever you get ENJOY them.

I got it sorted out, the truck was in transportation mode so the air bags wouldn't inflate. Now it rides ok I wouldn't say OEM like but it's not bad.

Yeah not OEM but not too bad.

Glad it got sorted out. The snow helps soften impact right?

For the most part the snow is packed on the roads and makes it super rough. The lake I was on was rougher than usual we have been getting above freezing durning the day then it freezes again at night.

I really wish I could retrofit the LCI LED corona lights on my X5. Nothing seems to come close to matching it. Ugh.

P1et - yeah I hear ya. But until then get something better than the yellow rings

I just tried out a new H8 for the Angel eyes. An upgrade from the last pair I had installed and they are even a little brighter and more white. At dusk and when walking towards the SUV or M5(I have both of the AE's with the new bulbs) it's really amazing how bright they really are.

I will have to take a few pics of it when I get back from out of town.
