Might be too late, but I got my 2" kit from r33_RGSport for WAY less than you'll get them at ECS.

Oh, don't worry. I checked with him first but he was out of the 1.2" springs.

Having done it, it's not a tough call at all. She did AMAZING during the switchbacks through the Napa Valley and all the other random stuff we hit while driving from Seattle to Hollywood for Bimmerfest.

H&R 2" sitting on staggered 22's, rides better than stock suspension on stock 20's.

looks great m5james, I went with the 1.2" kit… I think I picked up the last set from r33, thanks for mentioning him I got them for a great deal (250$ shipped to canada) but UPS raped me with over 100$ in duties and brokerage… Going to be installing them tomorrow just renting a spring compressor tool from part source, ill post pics up when I get a chance!

I think I read that H&R recommends 65mm but 67mm gets rid of bouncing.

I installed my 1.2s yesterday. Looks nice and clean, most people wouldn't know it's lowered. The rear looks a bit higher but im going to measure today as it was pouring rain here yesterday. The quality ride with stock 20s and runflats is about the same as stock, maybe a hair bouncier. I adjusted the rear links to 67mm as I read it improves the bouncy feeling. Will be getting an alignment at bmw next Wednesday as that's the soonest they had and I will have my buddy who works at the dealer to do the alignment and have him double check rear links with a vernier as I couldn't find mine so I used a measuring tape.

No, they're Pirelli Scorpions...as far as I know, they're the only manufacturer to make 295f and 335r tires for 22's. I'm running the same diameter 22's on my Harley F150 and bought the tires for around $1100 shipped off Amazon.

That was confusing for me too, the instructions h & r supplies are not very helpful but I adjusted mine 67mm center to center of the threads as that's what the picture looks like, but it could be outside to outside or between lol wish the instructions told you...

Was thinking of lowering on springs but this seems like more hassle than benefit with all the bouncy BS. And I am not mechanically inclined like most of you people so I am not going to be able to adjust jack shit myself. lol.

Question...

I had my H&R 1.2 installed on the X5M and it rides like complete Sh*t!

I adjusted the rear links a few times and decided to get close to oem link length.

Currently both H&R links are exact same length but my car rear ride hight is way off! passenger side rear is 2.5 fingers and driver side rear is 1 finger.

My installer said the X5M has sensors, Once the car settles the sensors will re-adjust everything? does that sound right? my installer has installed many suspension in all my cars. pretty smart guy!

Will the x5m Sensors re-adjust?

The springs take time to settle but the rear links/air bags are instantly adjusted when the vehicle is set back down off the hoist.. your mechanic most likely used a measuring tape like I did. I also have 2 finger difference from one side to the other in the rear but I checked with a vernier yesterday and from center to center of the threads one side is 67 and other is 69.4mm but im waiting for someone to clarify where you take the measurements from?! I guess ill have to call h & r if no one knows for sure... the supplied instructions in the picture shows center to center but my ride height is just over 31 one side and 31.5 other side and from others I see 30.25-30.5"... so it must be inside to inside of the threads? Can someone please verify!

The problem for me is that winters here are to harsh for coilovers with all the salt they dump on the roads so a 1.2" drop is fine for me, apparently once you dial it in the ride is like stock or comparible, there's plenty of satisfied people.

so today i had to adjust my rear driverside link. I adjusted it one turn higher then the passenger side.

its higher now but only 2 fingers while the passenger side rear is still about 3 fingers.

better then before when i only had 1 finger gap in the rear driver.

ill let my springs settle for a week and see how it goes.
