I hear you ngoster. Ordered mine on 7/7. Went into production today (about 2.5 wks earlier than originally told) with a scheduled finish date of 8/12. When is yours supposed to be complete?

Hope you get it soon...

Anybody know how the automatic steptronics and manual transmission work without the clutch. Do you shift just like the actual manual transmission from gear 1 to 5? If you come up to the stop sign and in currently in 4th gear do you down shift to 1st gear then?

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

You should have considered picking up your car at the factory. Fly down to Spartanburg, SC they put you up for the night in a nice marriott with dinner and breakfast the next morning. They take you to the Performance Center for in brief, coffee and then they put you in the model BMW you purchased (not yours) take you on the track for demo of anti-lock brakes, let you drive the road course then the skid pad. Course instructor has radio contact with all the drivers. Thend you go to the factory for a 1 hour tour back for lunch and then a rep takes you to your private show room tells you all about your BMW bumper to bumper, sets up all the specs radio, BMW assist, has your temp tags put on, puts you in the car opens the door and says "Enjoy your new BMW as you drive out the showroom door. Worth the time for a unique experience.

with the rears already tinted (within the glass - OEM) your rears are going to be darker then your front windows.

ah so you are putting 20% on the fronts and then a lighter film in the rears so that the total is 20% all around

What happened

So I ordered my X5 on Aug. 16th, on Aug 18th it was scheduled for production with a completed date of Aug. 23rd. Today, I call to check as I've been doing every day and it says "you're vehicle is scheduled for production with no estimated completion date"! What happened? I went from excited to depressed. What a way to play with someone's emotions. Anyone had this happen? Could it be a mistake? Thoughts?
