How long does the X5M take usually to get delivered?
Hey hows it going just wondering how long it took for most people near nyc to get the car delivered, i would think since the factory is in south Carolina it would not take anywhere that long? Thanks.

Ordered mine in bay ridge Brooklyn on May 22nd and received it June 28th. The process in south Carolina is quick, its the transit and prep that takes the better part of the time..

Congrats man. i would have had it a week earlier, but life quality started using a different transportation company via train and at one point they had no idea where it was. At least thats what they told me.. scary.

Who doesn't hate waiting, although I'm not getting an M, mine is scheduled for production as well... But, the good thing is, when it's delivered, we'll both have a huge smile on our faces at our respective dealership(s)...

Have you ever taken the factory tour? It's cool to watch "just in time" manufacturing at work. X5's, X6's, base & Ms, US, export, LHD & RHD follow along one behind another. All parts for the cars coming down the line are delivered to each station just in time. The right radio, color of wood, seats, options, everything for each specific order. Each part has a bar code and a computerized "build sheet" is scanned to confirm the correct part prior to installation. They build 600+ vehicles daily in two 10 hr shifts. That's one every 2 minutes, or 200,000 world wide per year. It takes 3 days start to finish, including body & frame assembly, paint, dry time, drivetrain marriage, final assembly, and check out.

Monday, done by Wednesday/Thursday, then probably take another week/week and a half to get the car up to NY, then probably another half a week to the dealer, so, 2-3 weeks before delivery... Rough estimate...

Like I said, Rough Estimate...
Monday - Thursday (Next week) : Production Friday & Monday (beginning of 2nd Week) : Quality Control (testing) Tuesday : Get the batch of vehicles ready for shipping Wednesday : Load the vehicles for shipping Thursday : Ship the vehicles out Friday & Monday (beginning of 3rd week): Vehicles arrive, offloaded, inspected, etc... Tuesday - Friday : Vehicles are picked up / delivered to their respective dealerships Monday - Friday (4th week) Vehicles are picked up by customers OF course my weeks may be way off, and I said it's a rough estimate, but figure its going to be something like the above...

My 35i is in the paint booth, with a estimated completion date of 19 july... Guess it'll be done faster than I thought...
