Update

The project is FINALLY nearing conclusion; I am loathe to predict completion by Friday given prior forecasts, but it looks promising. Completed work now includes the SC, exhaust, coilovers, BBKs, wheels. Remaining work includes the interior panel painting, angel eyes and clear bra. The stance looks quite menacing; very pleased with the aesthetics. More to come...

You are an inspiration friend; love the support! Dyno numbers will follow the project completion. Skirmishes are won before battle victory is declared

Nice build, lovin those stoptech! Would really like to get my flares etc, painted, looks great. A meetup sometime would be pretty cool since I'm seeing more and more modded X5's between forums that are in the area.

Good luck on the pulls!

Thanks! I would recommend the monochromatic paint modification with slight reservation as it transforms the aesthetics of the vehicle; conversely, to be done correctly, depending on the condition of the components, it is quite costly, $9 - $12K, adjusted for Bay Area inflation of course! As for a meetup, I'm always down to chop it up with fellow BMW enthusiasts.

We experienced a delay last week while troubleshooting an oil pressure issue that appears to have fixed itself (never a good sign). I suspect the bearings may be failing, and if so, the opportunity to fully build the motor presents itself. We shall see. Here's a quick shot of the near-complete status. Clear bra today and tomorrow and delivered on Thursday, FINALLY!

You think about JDM white LED front indicator lamps? I had a pair that lasted two years before and just bought another pair, they look great with the LUX angel eyes. I'll post a pic later.

I have not, but certainly agree that the side markers / lights now appear unsightly. I will look into it!

Don't mean to post pics detracting from your BA project, but here is the JDM indicator pic (quick iphone pic):

First set I bought in 2015 were pretty blue and I was able to adjust the LUX to match. After about 15-18 months the indicators started getting errors that went away after a driving but eventually didn't go away at all so I bought new ones. The new ones are a different design and more white so I adjusted the LUX to match again. Less blue and more white means less bright so I tried to balance and ended up with a little bit of blue in the angel eyes but mostly white. I recommend the JDM blinkers...very bright, and look great. If you don't like the "cheap" branding then I believe there are other high end options for the same result.

Why not just code the side blinkers to be on only when in use that way the blinker is still legal but also doesn't detract from the angel eyes.

This is how I've been running. Still replaced the bulbs with WeissLicht LEDS to get rid of the orange color reflecting from the bulb in the housing even when off though.

I had my E46 M3 coded that way with the stealth bulbs till I got LED indicators and chose white. Legal in the past 3 states I've lived...just read not Hawaii...I always pass inspection though. I found this Cali law below stating that it is legal to have white front indicators, not sure if it's superseded. It's all about what the OP wants though...stealth bulbs with amber color are more OEM style and less ricey, which is the idea of this build so probably a better route.
