What's the production date of yours? The bulletin says "...produced from March 1, 2009 to April 30, 2013." Mine is also 2013, but June 2013 production.

Keep me posted too since I'm in June too. I wonder if we really have a different index number.

**Edit**

Went to the dealer and checked my index. I have index 11.

Yup, I called a few dealers and each one checked the VIN and said I was not impacted by the bulletin. None mentioned the production dates affected so I guess this is why.

Injectors replaced today (2013 X5M)

Cheers.
You have a 2013 and got it replaced? What's your production date - or your last 7 VIN (I'll look it up myself if you're not sure).

Thanks to Creamo3 for informing everyone about this and M5james for uploading a pic of the actual bulletin! Will feel so relieved not having to worry about injectors going bad!
WallyM5 gets the credit for the bulletin, I just posted pics for those who might have to do it themselves for some reason

They are doing 13's. Yours is a June 2013 build and the newest index was available January 2013. I guess the 2013's up to April 2013 had the possibility of not having the newest index therefore that's why they recalled up to April. Maybe by June which is 6 months after the new injector came out, they all had the latest index. The bulletin specifically says up to April 2013 builds are part of the bulletin, so anything built after April 2013 would not be a part of it.

No problem, I was excited when I found out as I was dreading having to eventually pay to replace them if they went bad. Mine's going in tomorrow to get them swapped

I also want to to thank everyone who posted in this thread especially Creamo3 for informing us and Dchl21 and WallyM5 for posting a copy of the Service Bulletin; I also got impatient and dropped off my truck this morning at BMW of Austin armed with a printed copy of the whole thread and the service bulletin posted by WallyM5. I told my SA the truck is idling roughly and as I was about to mention the injectors he immediately told me "there is a recall" for my truck's injectors and they need to keep it over the weekend to change them. I was provided with a 3 series loaner. Thanks again eveyone.

what year is yours? if its not a 13, i'd pretty much say its impossible you have the newest injectors.

Yes, less than or equal to index 10 get replaced.

My 2012 (Late 2011 build date) had index 12 injectors, with no service record of them being replaced.

Maybe they had been done at an independent shop by the previous owner but with the amount of dirt on them when I pulled mine I find it unlikely.

I replaced my bank 2 injectors (index 12) at 74k due to rough idle/constant misfires and they were very dirty.

I had spoken to my SA a few days ago and told him to keep me on the short list as he heard more about this. Today he texted me, asked if I could bring the truck in at 9am, so I did. Truck is in the shop, he said it'll take until Monday, but he put me in a 2016 5 series until then. No complaints here, but I do think I'll ask about the plugs. Would be a good time to do them!

I picked my truck this morning from BMW of Austin, all injectors where replaced with the latest index; and looks like it spent the night with its twin brother/sister at the dealership parking lot , anyone here owns it? I assume it was also brought there for injector replacement.

Are you guys getting replacements, even if you are not having issues (as a preventative measure?)
Mine has about 30k miles since injector swap (prior to my ownership) and I am not presently experiencing any issues... Wondering if I should take mine in anyway?

You will get replacements regardless of issues or not if you do not have the latest index. I had 0 issues and they replaced all because I was off by one index. If you have the latest index since you replaced them then they won't change them. They will check the index.

Well, picked the truck up today, all new injectors. My truck had a built date of August '09 (very early 2010 model!) and it had Index 6 injectors. All were replaced with new injectors. The part numbers for the new injectors is 813538648937, in case anyone is curious.

They reset adaptations and topped up the fluids. Nothing drastic, but I do feel like throttle response is a bit better. Of course, it could just be due to reset adaptations...

The real test will be in fuel mileage over the course of a tank...

My 2010 X5M picked up about 1.5-2.0 MPG when the injectors and plugs were replaced. It was pretty far gone though; with slow starts, soot and smoke under hard acceleration. They were replaced under goodwill at 55k miles.

The 2013 X6M goes in tomorrow and I don't know if they'll get replaced or not. I don't have symptoms like the X5M did, but I do have soot. MPG is a little worse than the X5M post repair, but I don't know if that's due to differences between the Velos and Dinan tunes or just the lead in my foot.
