B@d @$$ !!!!!!!! These engines torque quite a bit. The solid mount makes me kinda worried, but it will still work regardless. Do the top engine covers still fit??? Great work there. Wish I had the skill and resources to complete projects like these.

The intake clears no problem(hood) and yes you do have movement from the engine but the intake is going to have rubber grommets with expanding rivets to be able to have movement.

Awesome work but there is a reason why aftermarket companies try not to expose the air filter to the elements of weather and/or debris. Having the filters directly behind the grills will only expose them to rain, sand, dust, debris and everything else. My concerns as a customer would be the frequency of having to clean the filters, the obvious concerns should you get caught driving in a good rain storm and lastly the effects of having less airflow to the radiator and power steering cooler.

i don't see any sense at all for this? Absolutly no improvment. The filters are in the dirt and rain, not nice..

just my two cents

I understand where you are coming from, that's why I am doing this on my personal X5M.also the filters will have blankets on them and also a funnel type cuppler so water does not go in the intake system when it rains.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, like I said it's a prototype and my SUV will go on my personal Shop Dyno and we will see if there is (absolutely no improvement)

I love the look, i bet it would look crazy with the hood down while seeing the filters through the grille.
I dont know if i would drive it through the rain though, i used to work at bmw and we'd see even X5s with flooded engines during storms because the intake sucks in too much water.

What sort of power did you put down on your dyno with the Pure turbos? Any issues with fuel supply? Boost level/fuel used?

Intakes look good btw

MSR intake puts it filters in the same location without issue, I want that sound, so I'm all for it!

Why is the tubing so uneven vs symmetrical like my rough drawing?
