I mixed up the brands, sorry. I used to always use centric rotors and stoptech pads but when I bought the E70's, centric didn't really have a selection. I put a full set of Powerstop rotors and pads on the wife's X5 3.0si and they have been solid. No rust or performance issues, and I've had them on about 18 months. I decided to go powerstop with the X5M also since they have the pads, but not the rotors. The rear come with replacement bushings and both sets come with high temp grease and bedding instructions. You can find them on Amazon or rockauto the cheapest depending on shipping charges. Summit and autoanything sell them also.

Powerstop Z23 Carbon Fiber and Ceramic Compound
Front: Z231429
Rear: Z23919B

bmwofsouthatlanta is the cheapest I've seen for the F85 rotors and shipping isn't bad either.

Thank you sir
I used to use Slotted/Cross-drilled rotors from Brake Performance on my previous X5 and they were great, unfortunately they don't make them for X5M.
I also used to use Akebono brake pads, whch were great as well, same story not for X5M

one more question jandref321 is there a reason u went with Z23 instead of Z16 or Z17, looks like Z23 more performance and the other 2 are more clean.

Also do u know if those sensors are as good as OEM?

Thank you!

I went Z23 just because they are supposed to have better performance. I bought the Z16 kit for the wife's truck front axle...different braking systems so don't have a comparison...both squeal a bit when cold or wet. Both brake and bite when warm, both low dust.

I bought centric front and rear sensors...perfect fit, same rubber protection as oem and same grommits at appropriate locations.

Thanks for the info guys.

I think pairing the low dust pads + F85 rotors will be my next move

Did you install the rotors? How have they been so far.

If i am reading this correctly, one of the mounting screws matches up, but not the other. The extra safety to hold it in place is the lugs...?

Any other feedback from people with low dust pads? I don't want to sacrifice 'too much' stopping power

You'll need 20 inch wheels (or certain 19s), as well as a new calipers, etc.

I do have 20" wheels (and set of 19 for the winter). so calipers, etc - would this be around $2500 mod? not sure if this worth it then..

Yes I did, no difference to the stock ones, they just look better...
At the rear the screws don't fit, I drilled a new thread in the wheel hub..

Worth the effort? I hear the set screws are more of a convenience than anything.

This is true, but I want to be sure to not have any dirt or something between the hub and the rotors after changing the wheels. This was the main reason..

Sorry to bring up a old post, but anyone have any problems with the rear hub being 72.5 and the f85 being 74? i know it's just 1.5mm but looking into it, seems like it hasnt been a issue for anyone?

From what i'm reading the X5m e70 and X6m e71 both have rear 72.5 center hub bores, and the brakes for the f85/f86 are 74, just want to make sure i have all the parts necessary.

Which pads have you guys come to like the most with the F85 rotors? E70? or F85? or Aftermarket?

As far as I know, the E70 X5M is 74.1 center bore at all 4 corners.

74.1 in front
72.5 in rear

Just bought spacers today. Regular E70s are 74.1 all around.
