Mission tuning

I bought the delete and tune from Mission Tuning and had my local indy do the install on my 2011 X5 35d. Mission removed the parts from there site and I have not been able to reach them. No errors and it runs ok, but it is far from perfect. I was hoping someone could recommend a shop within 4 hours or so of Albany that could take a look at the install and see if they can get the kinks out. I could go as far as Montreal to the North or Jersey to the South. Prefer going south since I have friends in Jersey.

ISSUES:
1. Stalls sometimes while reversing on an incline
2. Lag is more severe than before delete, once the revs are up it takes off like a rocket. It sis better if I keep it in sport mode or shift it manually.
3. The smell and soot are bad under heavy load, a DOC would probably help this.

I would prefer to not buy a new pipe but would be willing to augment it and do a new tune if that would help. I know the potential for this to be awesome is there.

why would you trust a no name tuner when you have options like DUDMD and Malone?

Mission tuning

I did a lot of research before selecting Mission, both here and on other boards. They seem to have moved away from the 35d and focus on tunes for the 3/4 series. At this point it does not matter, the downpipe is installed and the tune is in. The install was done by my indie, but it was the first one he did and I am looking to get someone more familiar with the delete to look it over and make sure it is not an issue with the install. As I mentioned, if I need to get a different tune, so be it but I want to make sure everything else is good and see what it will take to have s cat put on to knock out some of the stink

Nice build. As a fabricator myself, that exhaust is superb. I'm luckily enough that I'm going to do my own as that probably cost you an arm & leg.....almost hate they are hidden as true works of metal art!

And folks, I would ABSOLUTELY remove the flaps when doing an ABC delete like this. Spoken with a few reputable tuners and not a single one of they had recommended that I keep em. Just my 02.

I still have to install my comfort seats & then I'm removing all the excess weight on the engine myself. But shooting for a tamer 300-350 HP and 500-550 FT LBS. Hoping with a light foot I can get into the 40s on the highway at 65mph.

Love the sound of a real diesel. Our OEM 35Ds are too damn quiet!!! Looking for mine to sound like my Powerstroke soon enough.

I can imagine the smile on your face everytime you fire her up!!!!!!

Is the original post using stock mufflers at the back? I can't tell. I've got a DPF warning on a 2010 35d so considering options here.

Original post is a 3.5" Turboback system...so no muffler. It's all straight pipe.

So did you have the downpipe, midpipe etc just made as one piece in a shop? I can see that ATM has a good down and midpipe but I'm looking to have a shop do the work so not sure if I can just have them fab the end of the pipe runs and put tips on.

I had the shop Unobtainium Welding make the whole exhaust...it was the first one they did a long time ago. Best money I've ever spent on an exhaust.

Is it tolerable on the highway? Trying to figure out if two little kids could ride in the back or would be too much constant noise, if its not subtle

It's a beautiful sound...no drone at all and not too loud.

I have a 2011 and 13 x5d. I have the Malone Stage 1 on both and it really works. I mostly use it for WOT when passing basically and it will go right to 100mph in two to five seconds. I often drive in a lot of traffic and when I want to pass or get around cars quickly I know I can. My wife and I drive similar and we both know when you go WOT be ready to move, because move you will. We aren't aggressive drivers, don't track, and drive around the 70 mph mark to save on fuel consumption. But for passing and getting around others this is a great tune.

The DUDMD tune is the same

I will be going with Andrew Rodriguez on the tune as his shop is about 30 min away and he's helped me out already. I was considering stage 1 but my DPF warning is on so as far as I understand it, stage 2 is the only way to accommodate for removing DPF, EGR, SCR all at once.

JR tune is wayyyy over priced and drives like crap. I had JR 2.8 for a year and switched to BRR and couldnt be happier. AArod and the guys at TMY do excellent work!

Interesting. The only tune I could find was the JR and now I see 3 different names thrown here.

What's the "gold" standard of the M57 world?

Ok nice I found the DUDMD but they only offer stage 2 tune at 340whp and 484wtq and they don't mention if I need ABC delete?

But JR tunes for examples needs ABC delete and dyno shows 373whp and 606wtq.

Do you think if I contact DUDMD they offer more more power tunes?
