Any other garbage pickers here?
I know it sounds taboo, but I constantly keep an eye out as to what people are throwing away. Just to think of a few things...
I'm sure there is more, but I can't think of them. I don't know I mean used but still good stuff....I can't say no a lot. I used to have an obsession with vacuums...and then it just grew from there. |

Any lawn appliance. Weed eaters, chainsaws, push mowers etc. I've never paid for one, always picked up someone's broken one from the curb and repaired it.
We live in a suburb with 2 colleges and a medical school within a mile radius so people are constantly moving in and out, frequently I'll see some good stuff out there. I've heard of people picking the dumpsters at Carmax because anything not OEM to the car gets taken off and discarded. Aftermarket radios, body kits, almost new tires, etc etc they all go in the bin. |

Got my ex that way. Never should have brought her in, eventually curbed her again. Lesson learned.

This TV doesn't have WIFI, but thats ok. I'm going to use it as a monitor. It's going in the garage so I can search stuff from something other than just my computer or do other things while working in the garage.

No but I know people have picked through my trash. We had a gardening cart for 10+ years that was rusty and taking space so we put it out. Someone actually rang the doorbell and asked if they could take it. Also got rid of tiki torches when we got a mosquito misting system and someone took those. Gave hurricane shutters to someone for their mom's house when we got impact resistant glass. Other various items from time to time. I actually put stuff out earlier when I think there's a chance someone might want it. Happy to supply someone that can make use of stuff, except when someone digs through and leaves our other trash in the driveway when they take something.

No, but if you're the guy who took my old Weber grill from my curb during our annual town clean up week which had a sign on it that said "DOES NOT WORK - BEYOND REPAIR" and returned it AFTER clean up week was over ... we need to talk.
Happy pickings

The corner store put a special bucket under the lottery scanner, so I would quit going thru all the other bins pickig out scratchers for second-chance entry.
I reciprocate by putting most things ont eh curb for a few hours before throwing in trash. Three bags of the wife's clothing went out Sunday night, nothing to be seen Monday morning. It's a good thing the youngest doesn't play baseball at LL any more, they got tired of me ransacking the trashcans for recycling. |

i'm the one that puts stuff out on the curb for y'all. you're welcome. last item was a portable basketball pole and back board. got destroyed in a wind storm, rim bent, pole disconnected from the base. sat at the curb for two weeks but someone finally took it. before that it was a battery powered kids mini car. took it to the curb and it was gone before i walked back into the garage. you guys are good.

I had a 74 REPU with a peripheral port 13B. It was a handful on the street. I kept the bench seat and the towing mirrors on it. Aside from a fuel cell in the bed it looked totally stock. It surprised the hell out of a lot of people on the street. |
