Oil change, 7 quarts of liqui moly 5w-40, and a can of mos2. Seems to run smoother.

Thanks! No, it's the 7.1, I bought it used from a member on here that upgraded, but I'm not using the Android part at all, just wanted the updated look and monitor. I love it, one of my favorite mods so far...

That looks very clean! Using it only as a screen, do you loose/gain and functionality? I was thinking of going the same route because I don't mind the original interface, I just think the screen looks a little out dated.

Same here. I have no interest in the Android part either. Love the look of the screen though and if everything works as stock I may have to get one sometime soon.

You'll have to give some feedback after a bit with how the glare is during the day. I've seen some people say that the glare is pretty bad at times - if Avinusa doesn't make an anti-glare screen cover wouldn't imagine it being too difficult to just get the material and cut one out.

They make it... I'll be sure to post some feedback. I only drove a round a short while after. I'll get some wheel time soon.

Installed a new, deep cycle battery (Duralast Platinum).
Old BMW battery is stamped on the terminal with "35 15" which indicates 35th week of 2015. So it was over due for a change.

Battery history (when I checked with Protool) showed the last change was done at 32k miles, I currently have it at 72k~

I was getting "high battery discharge", often, even after leaving the car on a tender over night.

No such message yet with the new battery. Fingers crossed!

Very nice! Love this mod/update. I think I might pull the trigger soon. Although I was thinking of the 8.1, I'm sure 7.1 is the same (?) if i'm just really wanting a monitor upgrade without any extra doo-dads ...

I also got rid of the final thin hose clamp on the intake side... I kept ordering the wrong size t-bolt clamp...
That is excellent. I am planning to get the heat shroud for my turbo coolant lines as well.

That looks fantastic. But i think the glare will be too much in our hot sunny weather, im thinking of ordering the 4x4 new matt screen ones.

Yep, you can order them in packs of 3... I'm going to order a couple myself.

To answer your earlier question, there is no change in the monitor to go from 7.1 to 8.1, so if you're not planning on using the doo-dads and extras, no need to spend the extra $. It works perfectly as a monitor for your original dashboard.

Nice, I just went thru installing my dash cam and radar detector hard wiring. That was interesting, to find good 12v leads that were hot with ignition only.

Where'd you end up finding the 12V with ignition lead? I'm hoping to hardwire my R3 in this weekend.

If you look in Argento's journal, he did his and shows pics and explains it very well. Good luck!

Just wired up the mirror tap, took longer than expected ..like 15 minutes. On my '13 LCI I was getting FULL power with the instructions I found on the forum (Think it was from a 2010 E70). So fiddling around I ended up using the BROWN and GREEN/WHITE wires. I should have taken a picture to confirm . Now when I start the car, it powers up and when I cut the ignition off it powers off. It does NOT stay on if I have it what i call radio mode lol (engine off radio playing).

I HIGHLY suggest a volt meter (the proper way), but I did not use one.

You can also use TIS for the wiring stuff...
