OK, I had no Idea to be honest. The 35d has the release under the cup holder and I didn't know the 8 speeds were only accessible from under the vehicle. So the right way for an 8 speed would be as mentioned, but for the 6 its under the cup holder. TIL!

Previous owner had sprayed the silver roof rails with plastidip. Tons of scratches, splotches and areas where the silver was starting to show thru. Resprayed them and now they look perfect. Also gave the car a quick wash and seal.

Good call. I forgot to take the before pics but heres one I took during prep and then today at lunch of the finished product (in the rain). A while ago I also tinted my windows but forgot to post up so y'all can see that too. Fronts were done at 20% and the rear had 40% done over the existing 35% from the factory.

Replaced the expansion tank vent house as it seemed old and dry when I did some previous suspension work. After driving through some snow, I noticed how dirty the engine bay became and reminded me to re-install the front under panel.

Between yesterday and just a few minutes ago I did a full exterior/interior detail. Will throw up some pics next time I take her out - lighting in the parking garage is crap.

Used the Leatherique Rejuvenator and Pristine Clean on all leather surfaces - seats, dash, door cards, etc. Really some amazing stuff but takes some patience since the Rejuvenator sits on the leather for 16+ hours. Leather us soft, supple, and has more of that "leather scent" now even though the products are 100% unscented.

Also just installed a new OEM upstream O2 sensor on bank 2 since I broke a wire on the old one when doing my downpipe install...too long to type but happened when yanking on the downpipe to get it to line up. Was going to replace both sensors but I checked the readings after install and both bank 1 and bank 2 are reading very close to the same values so I think I'm good.

Edit: here's the photos I have for now. And like I said...lighting isn't great and the camera flash shows me I missed buffing a spot on passenger seat 🤦*♂️

Nice, looks really good and clean. I hate what baby seats do to the leather, but can't go without them.

My first is due on the 30th. I bought some car seat protectors on Amazon for the X5M and the X3. We'll see how they hold up!

I know! That was from the previous owner. We've got our first kid on the way and I already bought that special seat protector thing to put under the car seat so it doesn't get worse.

Thanks. Yea I used plastidip again. Cheap and if I were to screw up, I could peel it off and start again. Luckily, I got it right the 1st time

Since you have to cinch them in tight, it's probably gonna do it no matter what, but I got some protectors that work really well. What did you end up getting to protect the seats?

Give these a shot, worked for me!

Technically I haven't purchased it yet but I put it on the baby registry and will buy it or another one if no one else buys it. Looks to be more or less the same as the one you use. This one was reviewed well:

Past weekend, rebuild my turbos’s. It was howling like a werewolf. Although there were very little to no shaft play and nothing out of the ordinary, don’t know what the cause of the noise. Anyhow, engine sounds healthy and pulling hard(maybe it in my head).

What did you use to rebuild them? Is there a kit or did you just buy the parts separately?

Search for gt22 rebuild kit. It provides a bunch of parts that when you remove them you just match it up. You’ll end up with alot of leftover parts but better safe than sorry at that moment. I think almost every turbo the shaft nut is reverse thread but on the N/S63, it is just the usual clockwise to tighten. It is very simple, I spent more time removing the 2 bolt behind the engine for cat downpipe than to do the turbo.

Wow braver man than me, I rebuilt my wastegates (serious pain in the ass)but I could never find a rebuild kit for the turbos that I trusted so I just decided to buy new when I found them for a grand each. That's awesome you did it, easily saved yourself thousands
