Weeping Hoses
Recently the coolant hoses at the top of the motor have started to weep a bit. Not enough to affect coolant levels but want to replace them with so thing more robust. Was thinking silicone.
What have you guys replaced these hoses with and is there any special process to replace them or just take the old ones off, put new ones on and add a little coolant/distilled water to the new hoses? Appreciate it!

When I tried other hose, it did not fit quite well due to the taper on there. I went with new OEM but changed up the hose clamps for worm clamp style.
There is a bleed procedure that is supposed to work, but I have just added coolant to the tank, and let her run. |

Trying to defer replacing the hoses, I picked up some of the nice worm drive clamps from FCP Euro when I was ordering some other stuff, cut off the original clamps, and torqued the new down with some extra oomph. I don't expect it to last forever but it's working now. The hose is crushed quite a bit but 2000 miles later (with some great canyon carving in NC last week) no leaks.
*I don't remember if this was the diameter I used, but FCP has all varieties. I ordered a bunch of each to have on hand: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/hos...7-5mm-wide-mh5 What happens is that due to thermal damage/heat soak above the turbos, the stress from the clamp on the rubber hoses relaxes over time. The rubber hose softens, thus less pressure on the hard line. Also, replace the tiny o-rings for the two bleeder screws if you crack the bleeder. They're toast as soon as you turn the screw.
