How’s it going everyone!

New member. I have had my E70 X5D for about a year and just received my full delete kit. Pictures to come!

Yarded out the cell phone cradle. Replaced the scratched up fan switch. And just for kicks changed fog lights to yellow.

Was going to attempt adding ambient lighting strips but ran out of patience.

Probably install my own subwoofer tomorrow after getting a quote for $350 to have a local shop install it even with me supplying wiring, fuse holder and already having a sub and amp. I guess the stealership isn’t the only thing that had to raise their labor costs

Just some cheap eBay special Nokyas. They’re ok, they’ll work.

They emit a…… “watered down yellow”. I might throw some yellow laminX over the housings to see if it’ll darken up a bit.

I'm currently running GP Thunder 3500k yellows for fog light bulbs. I like them better than the Nokyas I was running previously.

Was sent pictures of my car and the failure point in the sunroof cassette where it’s taking in water. Hopefully this is the fix, costing me big $$$

The circled part is some sort of foam mixed with goop that the factory uses to channel water to the drains. Over time it gets crusty and fails allowing more water to flow over and into the car. The volume is more than the drains can flow and it ends up down the A pillar and down to the carpet. They are also replacing the foam seal around the perimeter of the glass and the seal between the 2 panes of glass.

Thankfully my brother is a Master Tech at this dealer and I was able to get family rates on the job which was about half of what I was originally told $ wise. 😮‍💨

Bought a used Burger Tuning diesel tuner. Should do the job for a bit until I can stack some $$ to go Malone Stage 2 w/“Dynamic EGR” and delete the swirl flaps.

Everyone needs just such a brother! Bummer to read you had to do this, and I'm really hoping it is isolated incident! What's your brother's take on how often this occurs?

Yeah he is the #1 reason I don’t change vehicle brands.

First symptom is the drains which from what I gather is around 70% of the time. Unfortunately the rest is this issue.

My E70 had an empty looking toolbox, so I ordered the missing parts and some fresh screws to hold down the battery cover.

I am aware it is not the correct hex tool for the sunroof, but it is all they had.

Why did you buy the red T handle? Does your tranny actually have the top mounted manual neutral release?

Huh, now I’m going to have to look at my set up. I don’t think I have a box wrench or the Allen wrench. Never knew there was supposed to be more than the screw driver and tow eye

The red tool for the gearbox is not applicable to my car, you are correct. But the empty space is more confusing to me.
