I think this has more to do with the other guys who won since 2006. Urban x2, Miles, Chizik...

So now every other school including Florida, LSU, and Auburn, look at themselves and asks "why not us?" The problem is, you noticed, those 3 teams were doing it BEFORE Saban started killing it in recruiting. Saban's first BCS bowl at Bama was 2008, and first Championship was 2009.

Urban was a master recruiter (Tebow, Harvin, Cooper, Nelson, Pouncey, Spikes, Dunlop, Haden, Hernandez, etc)
Miles had a crazy good defense (Dorsey) and 4 NFL WRs (LaFell, Holliday, Bryd, Doucet)
Chizik won the Cam Newton lottery and rode that horse like Mack Brown rode Vince Young.

I have to note though, the 2007 LSU team while beating my Ohio State team was not that great in the grand scheme of the last decade. They were very lucky and that season was a terrible season in terms of figuring out who was the "best" team. It's was the "year of the upsets" where the #1 team lost 5 times, the #2 team lost 7 times, and the #1 and #2 teams lost 3 times on the same week!

Mad props to UCF. They are legitimate contenders and should be ranked within the Top 10 next year. Hopefully, they can keep that momentum going with Frost gone.

That Georgia Oklahoma game was unreal. Best game so far this year.

Alabama was beastly last night. They are feeding those kids something else.

Have to agree on UCF! Had doubts going into the bowl game but they proved they are the real deal...

Yeah UCF had a great season - very difficult to go undefeated, including beating a very good Auburn team. However, they have taken their jubilation a little too far IMO:

Back before the playoffs there were years someone was left out of the championship game that had an argument to be in it. I don’t recall any of them crowning themselves national champions.

UCF had a great year, but naty champs... please tell me again what Auburn was playing for? Every year we see teams who were in the playoff hunt, but messed something up (not getting left out ex. Ohio St.) not give a shit about bowl games.

SEC give us a good game or at least make Saban into an even greater legend.

Sam Darnold who...JT Daniels(5 star QB from #1 Mater Dei) will graduate early and reclassify from 2019 to 2018 recruiting class. Enrolling at USC in April.
