Took out the radio fuse (#7) Now radio won't turn off!

I've been having a battery drain problem with my 2006 X5. It would be dead if not driven within 48 hours. I read about the radio potentially being the culprit, so I took out the radio fuse (#7). Now, when I turn the car off, the radio stays on. Previously, when fuse #7 was installed, the radio would turn off when the car was turned off. Weird, but so far, the car is starting right up after sitting 24-48 hours. Turning off the radio manually isn't a big deal. Anybody else experienced this?
