Rawtek for dpf delete?

Hi, guy. Well the time has come to build my wife's 09 x5 diesel the way it was always meant. After having a clogged dpf, my finally getting a low vehicle performance indicator... I recently purchased the rawtek dpf delete and catalytic converter with the malone stage 2... I wrote a few other people/companies about the dpf delete, but in all honesty, only rawtek reached back to me... is the rawtek/malone setup a quality setup/good brand or did I shoot myself in the foot?

If you already spent the money then who cares if you shot yourself in the foot lol?
Rawtek should be fine and since you got a DOC it should help with the diesel exhaust smell

Because it's not delivered yet and I'm pretty sure I can cancel the order

I went with a buzzken DP with DOC because it was the cheapest option. Recently switched to the BBR tune from JR 2.8 which I ran for a little over a year

They're all basically the same stuff. Theres been many guys with that downpipe on their 335ds and they haven't complained.

If you can cancel the order then do it if you want and get the atm downpipe and scr delete.

If you can't no big deal. Just make sure you have the block off plate for the second egr cooler!!! I know the atm "kit" comes with it too.

As for malone tuning I've heard good things also. I personally went with BRR like sunny j and don't regret a thing about it.

I would of preferred the atm speedshop one but they are out of stock until the end of the month and I'm kinda needing to get this repair sooner than later (I dont like when my wife drives my car because she always complains after)... yeah, it is what it is at this point. At least the hardware would be in... hey RL, how many block off plates should be installed... I spoke with Rob out there at rawtek and he said it comes with a block off plate for the egr cooler... but I wasn't aware of a second egr cooler?

He's talking about the second EGR on the DPF. The upper EGR block plate will come with the race pipe which deletes the EGR

Yes what he said ^

OP are you doing the deletes yourself or having a mechanic do it?

Well my mechanic says hes never done one of these before and I've never done one of these before as well... so I guess we will figure it out together.
Anything else to look out for?

This will help a lot then: DIY - E70 X5d DPF Delete (Good Reference for 335d) https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1307679

It's not that bad. Did my 335d in a day. My x5 when I do it will probably take half the amount of time now that I'm familiar with what I gotta do

be prepared to drop the subframe unless you take a hacksaw to the factory dpf

Did you have to drop the entire subframe? That diy shows just loosening the subframe bolts then removing the engine mount and you should be able to wiggle the dpf out.

I haven't been able to look at my x5 on a lift but I know my 335ds dpf almost dropped on my head after I removed the engine mount. I also had an engine support tilting the engine up on the passenger side with the drivers side mount loosened so that might of given me lots of space too. Also I had the rest of the exhaust hanging so the flange wasn't in my way.
