The sound is interesting. Full throttle sounds pretty weird... almost like the turbos aren't working together and are very out of sync. Cruising sounds really good though you can hear the turbo echoing off buildings and nice whoosh sounds when letting off. I suspect the weird noises are because of a leaking vacuum system/ bad converters/ EUVs. Definitely more work to be done.

my only options are OE BMW, Sachs or B4 shocks for the rears since I have self level suspension. B4 were the cheapest

Haven't driven it much yet. Just got back from a trip and I gotta dial in the rear airbag height. Biggest difference so far is the tighter ride and less body roll.

Questions....
1) Is there a protective grip tape large enough to cover the running board area of 2010 X6M?
2) Where to find the Turbo blanket? 3) What exhaust setup offers the best sound? I zip-tied my Valvetronic flaps to remain OPEN. But the sound is still Toyota Camry-like. Megan Racing Supremo, or straight-pipe muffler delete, or quad resonators.... or, even smaller dual-tip cans? 4) How to remove the Galvanic corrosion of the stock M300 dual spoke wheels?

Do you have a sound clip recorded? Was it this axle-back exhaust?

I did the zip tie thing for a while, then got plug-in mod with remote so I could open and close the valve at will. Definitely agree that it sounds kinda cheap. So, I recently installed the M Performance Exhaust on my X5 with the N55 engine (got a good deal from a fellow forum member), and am really liking it! the only thing is that the bumper had to be modified to accommodate the new tail pieces. I looked into doing the Meisterschaft exhaust b/c it has remote controlled valves and sounds nice. FYI, it looks like the Meisterschaft is running a sale of $1000 off. Pretty nice deal! |

I'm chipping away at my list, trying to do at least one this every other day. Yesterday it was gorgeous out, so I spent some time sitting on my tailgate and got the rear pass inner light replaced. I've replaced both, and both were oem so I presume that means they should last for about another 200k..... I can dream.
Today I think I'm going to replace my parking sensor, and hope it's the sensor and not the wiring harness. Then I hope to wire up at least one of my rear lightbars. I've been slacking on that. The list goes on: wire other side rear lightbar, mount and wire front lightbar, check exhaust pressure sensor banjo, replace red boost hose remove active DEF tank buy and install swirl flap deletes clean the entire engine and engine bay from the oil that's everywhere recheck trans fluid/ top off if needed to see if that's where my driveline whine is. I did heat up the trans when filling, and it was level, but SOMETHING is whining and I've changed the oil in everything else. |
