I started to do this yesterday. Removed the screws. Then I couldn't figure out how to unplug the wiring from the base. I figured cutting it would throw a code so I still have that monstrosity in my armrest. I'll figure it out eventually. However I did manage to complete 2 things on Memorial Day. 1) Replaced factory system with Android 10.25" screen. 2) Found a shadetree to work under and knocked out painting my calipers. Lots of parts accumulating in my office. I need to step it up next weekend and try to knock a bunch of these out. |

I used a few links from google (leading to forums) but also Newtis to see where more or less I had to remove screws. Turns out all I needed was to remove the one screw towards or under the dash (carpet, not leather piece). Slide that carpet panel towards the front. I actually used trim tools to try to pry it, but you cant since it slides off not pops off towards the back (although it has two plastic clips holding it in the center). Once that piece is removed slide the carpet piece under the console and between the seats bottom. Slide it hard towards the front and it'll come off. You'll see the wires there, just follow and unclip. HARDEST part was trying to figure out google links and newtis. Easy once you actually know exactly how lol I've been wanting to do the 10.25" screen but a few issues ive seen from other members make me wary of doing the upgrade. I want NO hassles when I install it =/

In the process of refreshing body painting, replacement of the front bumper spoiler, powder painting of thresholds and installation of a shadow line window moldings, removal of badges on the doors and rear cover. And at the end of all this will be complete polishing with the application of several layers of liquid glass. Forgot , still deleted mud flaps)

Also, just ordered front tension arms. for $168, I'm trying to get rid of my vibration. I'd love to throw money at an entire front end refresh, as I need new springs and shocks, but for now I'm just going to take it slow and try to minimize the spending. However, if I end up moving to California, it would involve a 2900 mile drive there..... so maybe they refresh will happen before then. |

Thanks guys. I just need to convince my daughter that bronze is the new black. I was thinking a flat black would be cool. This might be great project for the 2 of us to work at together. If it goes south, I could probably teach her some new swear words... |

The weather folks have been extremely bad with their guesses this Spring...
As a example, it was supposed to rain out the 500 last weekend, and not a drop. They should just say there's a chance every day and be done.
