Yeah, I went with the lightest one they had and it still was a bit too dark, I think it cheapened the look of my car for whatever reason. I also didn't like how they looked like wavy or something instead of just being smooth. Same with the headlights, it gave them an orange peel texture. I'll continue to experiment, only way to see if I like it. Not too many folks doing different things on our cars.

And I'm the opposite - I think the tails look good with a slight tint but don't like the headlights tinted. Great to hear the diversity of everyone's personal taste when it comes to modding the E70.

As for what I did to mine today it will be something I'm doing in the future. Finally bit the bullet and ordered the PTP Turbo Blanket. Didn't install the heat shield after putting in the catless downpipes. Is been cool here in Portland up till this week and under hood temps were not bad at all. But with summer around the corner and some 90 degree days in the forecast I want to control the heat to prolong the life of all those plastic parts.

It was definitely expensive but I'm looking forward to the peace of mind.

Just installed the PTP Turbo Blanket. Looking forward to not worrying about how hot my engine bay is getting on these warm summer days that are on the way. Pretty awesome that is covers up some of the upper portion of the downpipes as well. I know they were $500 when they came out years ago but now they're $350 and that's worth it to me.

Nice man, I love mine... did you install it over the heat shield or on its own? Do you have catted downpipes? Mine looks like it tucks down a bit more in the back, but might just be the pic.

I don't have the factory heat shield on so it's right on the hot side/downpipes (catless). Maybe I need to push it down in the back a bit more but I tried to push it as far back as I could. I don't have it secured with any wire or anything since it seems pretty snug. Also, the PTP instructions said "use the included wire" but they didn't include anything.

Lol, mine said the same. I just tucked it back and pushed it down. I only secured it by the turbos. I'm not using the heat shield either, so I added a washer onto a heat shield bolt that lines up with the hole on the blanket. Just to keep it put. You can tuck the sides down a bit too under the turbos and piping. The opening/indents on the back are for the rear o2 sensor wires...

I really like those and was thinking to add them too but only if I do custom down pipes which I never did...

Noticed I was going gung-ho and decided I don't have the extra money for a toy right now. I want to buy a larger house and give my kids a playroom. I'll be back in another platform shortly...

Thanks guys, it's just a good mileage for me to sell and not get bent over by the bank. Trying to do what's right for my family vs what I want. Planning to get something again in a year or two. Hopefully an F85 or something.
