E70 Vanos code and Engine Malfunction
I had the Engine Malfunction light come on the dash and had it scanned which showed the exhaust Vanos valve code. I bought the valve and had it installed, they reset the code, and a few days later the same code came up.
Does anyone know if there is a software problem that can cause this or what it can be? I recently had the oil changed and found that they did not use a Mann filter, but a "less expensive one". What I plan to do is to change the filter to a Mann, and see if the current one is intact-maybe it broke apart and is causing the code. I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem-thanks, Rich 2013 X5 3.5 The code was 2D60 Last edited by rswnekX5; 07-15-2022 at 08:59 AM.. Reason: Forgot to list the code |

Vanos issue
I was able to find a shop that could update the software from BMW and so far, for a week, there have no codes and it runs great. DTA Automotive in Budd Lake, NJ did a great job.

Engine Malfunction code 2D60
I spoke too soon as the Engine Malfunction code came back in 9 days.
Has anyone had a fault code 2D60 for an exhaust Vanos fault? The research showed there is a software update which should have solved the code problem. There were no faults for 9 days and it is now back. The car seems to run fine with no difference with or without the Engine Malfunction light on. Has anyone had this happen and do you have a suggestion for next steps-thanks. |
