SAS Steering Angle Sensor -1440.15
Hello everyone! My first post!
And of course I'm here because I need help! My 09 x5 threw out all the warning lights during some winter driving and today I was finally able to tear down steering column to get to the SAS which seems to be faulty or dirty. I was hoping it was just the "dirty" but I got into it and that thing was as clean as can be. Even after attempting to reset the only reading I ever get is -1440.15. I got a few other codes popping up such as front left speed sensor and possibly a ground fault on parking actuator......but actuator works. Weird stuff. Likely just one (or two) gremlins but I figured I'd reach out before I start throwing parts at this thing. Let me know if anyone has that knowledge of where to start! Thanks! |

Assuming you have Active Front Steering, you've set the steering angle?: start engine; turn steering wheel left to full lock; turn steering wheel right to full lock; return to central position; Turn off engine; Turn on engine and check for messages. It's required every time I disconnect the battery. GL.
