2012 X5 50i Idler Pulleys

Hey guys,

I searched on the forum a bit for my specific question and did not see a thread directly for it.

Long story short, I get the screeching pig noise when I turn on the car (worst when cold) and when I accelerate/rev the engine. I am assuming it's the tensioner idler pulley and or the AC Idler Pulley. Focusing on the tensioner for now.

My question is, do anyone know the OEM and the part number for the pulley itself? I only see the full assembly for sale (part number: 11287549873) but I would bet money it's just the pulley bearings. Is this sold separately? Ebay finds a few but I can't ensure they are OEM and rather not do this in 2 months when a cheap one goes bad.

Thanks in advanced.

If you took the idler off and tore it apart you might be able to get new bearings at a bearing and electric motor shop. But I wouldn't bother. Buy the new tensioner and belt and install it. You'll have to remove the radiator fan at a minimum.

Yea totally worth doing the belt but the pulley itself seems okay to not replace the the tensioner. Might have to go that route since I can't seem to find the own one.
