Like I said it's almost like stock just tighter and that's a good improvement over stock. Love the ride now, just need to get new tires.

Will do. I'll try edc in a little bit on a stop and start drive to my parents and post back my impressions.

Ride with EDC on was tighter and on the speed bumps made it a little stiffer. I don't use edc as on my way home I have to go over 8 speed bumps. I only use it on the highway.

I have a2009x5 on H&R 1 1/2 stock bump stops. and links in the back.
I just replaced the rear airbags.
The only thing I don't like about being lowered is that when you happen to hit a good size bump it bottoms out and it is loud, some times I wonder if I bent or broke something, I do get the alignment checked regularly. Otherwise I like the x5 lowered . I'm going to look into replacing the bump stops in the front .

Replace both front and rear bump stops. You'll be ok after that.

Weird. Maybe the button is faulty. Try swapping it out with another one and see if it does the same thing.

Ordered a pair of Arnott Rear Airbags as the originals are leaking, rear is sagging once parked for a while. Will install immediately as soon as they arrive. I will be posting pics of before and after

Looks good! I'll get those bump stops too, two years of bouncy ride is enough for me, LOL!

Bro check the length of your rear links. I adjusted to 65mm which is H&R recommended and no bounce, ride is like stock.

Great look!

I'm on the h&r 2.0 drop springs..the rear appears to be set higher than 65mm-shop installed a bit high but will be lowering it a little to flatten out the stance a little bit.

But yes...big bumps feels like I'm running into walls.. guess I'll explore bump stops too...

Looks great and yes it needs a little lowering from the back. Make sure you get 4 pieces of the bump stops for all four shocks.

Update:

Had to readjust my rear ride height, had to lower it a bit as since I installed the new Arnott airbags the car raised a bit. This means the old airbags were probably not operating at 100%. The rear links are now adjusted to approx 64.5mm. Rear ride height is back to 16.5" from center of wheel to edge of fender.

1. Are these M5 comp bumpstops shorter and/or softer than OEM?

2. Has anyone actually measured how much more travel the rear can compress before damage? My thought is that the strut would stop the suspension travel before any damage would happen to the chassis.

I cut the front bumpstops in attempt to enable more travel in the suspension but ended up with plenty of travel with 1.2" H&R lowering springs as I haven't felt the felt hit the bumpstop. (I have the lighter I6)

I'm considering doing the same for the rear since I lowered the rear(using adjustable height rods) more than recommended to remove the rake with the car seemed to have.

Shorter bump stops would help with suspension travel in the rear, but I'm also worried about clearance since bump stops are designed to limit travel to avoid damage to the chassis from the suspension/drivetrain when compressing close to the max.

Yeah the M5 bumpstops are shorter than oem. Stock bumpstops can be cut down like you did but I think most people just buy the m5 ones for simplicity.

I'm planning to install H&R adjustable springs soon and the instructions mention to cut the oem bump stops to a particular length

Generally if users are experiencing hitting the bump stop often it could be a sign or bad struts/shocks.
