2011 BMW X5 35i

Good afternoon, so I am hoping someone can clarify. I purchased 4 winter tires from a guy off kijiji...he says he took them off his 2008 BMW X5 look like original OE rims and Michelin tires

However just got a call from mechanic said 2 used rims with winter tires were installed on back but other 2 would not fit on front without drilling??

So he was going to take the winter tires off the rims I bought and put them on the rims I was using for the front only

So
Back (2008 BMW Rims and Michelin tires)
Front (2011 BMW Rims and Michelin tires)

I have no idea what this means anyone?

I said well if the four 2008 rims fit on the back I can use two for winters and two for summers but means somehow rims must be different size?

Please helps.

Thanks

The rear wheels on a X5M or X6 have a different center bore diameter. Therefore they won't fit on a regular X5 without modification.

Other then that there are lots of OEM wheels that have different sizes and offset but should be compatible.

This is correct. The simple fix is to run your wheels with hub adaptors or spacer adaptors. That's how I run my setup
