Stretch Belt Tool for A/C Belt
Hey Gang
I am doing my vbelt repair as well as my pulleys. Got my new vbelt on but damned if I can get the A/C stretch belt on. I have bought 2 tools for this task so far and neither have worked. One tools was a generic universal tool, the other I thought was the correct tool from BMW but it wasnt. I Really hate to take it to the shop and have them do it at a cost of $130+ when If I had the right tool I can do it myself. I have looked all around for DIY for this issue have only found resolutions for the 8 cylinder and not the 6? Does anyone have a tool I can buy from you, use and then return. Obviously for a small fee for your trouble? Or does anyone have a DIY idea?

I thought only the N63 & S63 used a separate stretch belt for the A/C and everything else had one belt that ran everything. (I have replaced it several times on the N63, you just take of main belt, remove 4 main pulley hub bolts and rotate the engine until the main pulley slides over, remote and replace A/C belt and rotate engine back until it snaps in place and replace bolts, main belt).

Check your main pulley, does it have 4 bolts and an arrow carved into it inisde the hub? If so then you don't need any special tools to slip the belt on, just remove the main belt, remove the 4 bolts when the hub arrow is pointing away from the compressor, rotate engine until arrow lines up with compressor (will make a very loud snap when it does) and the a/c belt will now be loose enough to remove and replace with new. Rotate back and install bolts/main belt

There’s no indication of any stretch belt on the 3.0. Just the usual tensioner. |

No dont remove it, yours does not have the sliding hub design.
