What is the "definitive" HPDE/Track book for a novice?

My nephew is *obsessed* with cars-- to the extent that I was able to get him into my clubs last HPDE by the skin of my teeth. He's just sixteen, but really *really* wants to continue in the sport. We built up his car last season (a nice older 3-Series), so I've been teaching him both maintenance and *why* things work on a car-- it's been a lot of fun.

I'm glad to encourage him-- especially since his father drives a Tesla and wouldn't know which end of a screwdriver to use.

I'd like to get him a *definitive* Track/Racing/HPDE book, but am unsure which one is the best.

So far, I've gifted him:

Ross Bentley's "Lost Art of High Performance Driving"
Ross Bentley's "Ultimate Speed Secrets"
Carrol Smith's "Drive to Win"

Those were my go-to's when I first started out, but I'm pretty sure I'm missing something.

Any recommendations on an excellent book for a 17 year old? He's pretty set on doing club racing (as a minimum), but I'd like him to be a little more knowledgeable before turning him loose in NASA, SCCA or BMWCCA.

TIA--

R.

And books on suspensions & chassis.....

And you might think about FF or FV to learn the basics

I'm thinking more along the lines of "How to drive well/faster/better/pick the line" etc.

He's a looooong way from anything on how to build up a car-- his is a pure street at the moment, and it's going to stay that way for the immediate (i.e. college) future.
