M57 Valve Cover Gasket DIY
Here's a video a friend and I did on replacing the valve cover gasket. This was on the 335d which uses the same motor and the procedure was the same for you most part. Next weekend we will be doing a VCG on my 2012 x5d and if there's anything you guys want to see, comment below.

VERY nice video Sunny (part way through video number one now). Did you follow any written DIY steps you'd like to share here? Also, do you have a list of special tools you'd recommend obtaining for the job? Is there a list of parts you did "while you were in there?" And finally, since my vac lines were recently replaced, are pretty much all of the steps still required other than cutting/slicing vac lines?
I could also hit you up on the FB group if you prefer.

All the steps and torque specs are followed from NewTIS. Helpful tools would be an open socket to remove the fuel lines and an injector puller. Liquid wrench if you had any water damage. Other parts I would replace while in there would be if you have the old style J oil line, cracked ccv hose, pressure converters, electronic valves (they both get tired with age) and the vacuum lines. I know you just got them done but removing them will give you more working space when removing the valve cover
