Got my catch cans set up! I actually replaced the passenger side catch can with a small unit. The one in the picture would only fit sideways. The small catch can fits perfectly.

So the headlight coding has been extremely exhausting. Me and a tech are learning this for the first time. Yesterday we found out we had the wrong cable that only worked on older bmws. (Something about bridging pin 7&8). Tonight we got the correct cable.
We tried using the old frm first since everything but the high beams worked. When we tried to change the vo and production date in the frm it wouldn’t stick. It would keep going back to the original build date and vo. Tried a new FRM3 everything except the high beams worked. But we have lighting and passenger airbag/restraint warnings |

Congrats on the X5M and all the hard work you have put into it. Where did you get the catch can setup and if you can link it that would be great. Could you take pics of how you set it up as well please? Thanks.

The catch cans are from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RB4XBNH..._vtJlEbXMBJE83 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZCSZR2R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_JaKlEbXZDTM6N I used M16x1.5 to AN10 adapters on the catch cans. The hose was 3/4 inch ID 10 feet is enough to get the job done. There’s a vent hose that connects to the oil separators on the valve cover. That flows into the catch can. The exit from the catch can goes to the filtered duct on the opposite bank. The last picture from today. That was about 700 miles on the catch can. We’ve had a couple days of 30 degree weather here. This weekend was a lot of fun. My wife and I went to our local cars and coffee. I got to drive the new M8 there and back. She drove her X5M. Afterwards me and friend did some pulls against each other. X5M vs his 2013 Alpina B7 with straight pipes. He actually walk away from me when we hit 80 and he had two passengers. I think it might be the difference of his catless downpipes vs my high flow cats. Drag might play a factor too.
I got some new light weight forged rims coming in this week. There there will be a rematch soon. Here stats showing the improvement with the velos tune and repairs. Maybe he rims can get me under the 12 sec 1/4 mile mark. Last edited by X5MBeast; 01-28-2020 at 05:04 AM.. |

Got the rims in today. They definitely seem to be a lighter shade than I was expecting from the picture. I took some pictures and noticed how the color of the rims changed based on the lighting and view angle.
. Fronts come in at 22.6lb/each Rears come in at 24.0lb/each That totals 93.2lb before tires. I’m interested to see there is measurable gain in performance and maybe MPG? I also coated them with Carpro UK 3.0. Hopefully that will help to keep them clean. Last edited by X5MBeast; 01-29-2020 at 06:06 AM.. |

You will love those wheels. Have same version but in 22's. Awesome quality and you will notice how much lighting affects the color.

Glad to see i'm not the only high mileage x5m guy on here lol. I bought one for 15k with the same miles as yours, no warranty. 2K miles down so far so good, oil analysis was good, only issue so far was a turbo re-circulation hose was torn. I really like your catch can set up, i might do something similar to that
