Recall for a Recall-WTF???

So I just got a notice from a local dealership for an open campaign for driver’s airbag, which was already replaced under the initial recall campaign. Went onto the NHTSA website and confirmed a recall for the previous recall. Are you freaking kidding me? Who else is extra annoyed?

Annoyed, but at least BMW will give us loaners. Insist on a loaner and spend the say beating the crap out of someone else's car. I'd rather have a safe airbag, and have a crappy company caught in a half assed fix, than have shrapnel shot through me when someone hits me.

Be happy with the loaner.

I got my valve stem seals done along with few other wear and tear parts recently and got to drive a 2020 X5 as loaner for 800 miles.

Well worth the hassle

What a clusterf***

Called the dealer I would normally take it for service and they didn't offer a loaner .

i don't think BMW makes the airbags and affects other makes as well so it's not a BMW issue. But you gotta wonder the QA that went into this if at all.

It used to be most BMWs can make it to 200k miles without major engine repair but now stuff are popping up just before hitting 100k. I hear S63's seizing, my own X5 50i valve seals went at around 80k and lasted for 40k miles after the fix. I just don't see value in it any more from modern BMWs. Many cars today are gong plastic intakes and thermostat housings, etc...LOL. Yea get used to it.

The non-M V8s have always seemed to be problematic for BMW. The I-6 is their bread and butter.
