Brake pedal slowly sinks after new front pads.

Akebono fronts, fluid recently changed, nice hard pedal before.

Brakes were worn to the pad trigger. I C-clamped the pistons to compress them and I didn't open the master cylinder cap (none of the vids I watched mentioned it)

Now brakes are spongy, pedal will sink if held (slowly). When driving I can pump the brakes and they get harder but stopping power is reduced...I can still stop, and the brakes feel hard but I have to stand on them to stop.

Bled the brakes, clean fluid and no bubbles seen.

Did I mess up my master cylinder when I compressed the piston?

Flush the fluid out of the lines you have air in the line.

Did you use after market pads? I had the same problem with the Bosch (if memory serves) pads, they lack good initial bite and it feel like you have no brakes, until you really really push the pedal almost to the floor. The ms are very sensitive to brake pads. I switched to the oem pads and problem was solved..

Some brake pads are not good on the m.
