Advice needed
I am a long time owner of a 2007 n54 FBO, tuned e90.
I'm thinking of purchasing a 2010 e71 (X6). I know the six cylinder has the N54 in it. No issues there. I am wondering about the v8 for that period. I think it's the n63. Can you guys tell me the ins & outs of the engine? The on-line reports suggest several recalls & problems with it. However, that was 10 years ago. What I'm wondering is if I get an X6 with a n63 motor what should I expect? I'd be looking to get one with under 100,000 miles, or does that matter? Or Should I stay away from the N63 & stick with an n54 powered one since I'm very familiar with this engine. Please advise.... |

It doesn't look like the n63 was ever updated correctly and continues to have issues even after 2014 "care package" I can't imagine M owners of this SUV. They were probably so pissed to spend that kind of money on a car to get "amateur hour" problems. I think I'll get an E71 with the n54 motor. |
