curious how you like the front lip? install instructions? is it all tape holding it on? any issues? truck looks great....

OEM front has 3M tape on the upper side and utilizes the four bumper cover screws on the bottom. Finish is flawless and fits well. Easy to install

The aftermarket carbon diffuser is nice as well, but I had to work with it a little more during fitment.
Hard to beat OEM for finish quality and fitment.

Did you reuse your existing headlight washers or buy the new ones?

I kept the original headlight washers. I have no idea why the spray nozzles were different, but they have absolutely no effect on the headlight retrofit.

So I don't have headlight washers on mine and I'm doing this retrofit how can u make them work ?

I'm not really sure if they are pressure activated or electronically activated. I never use mine anyway...


I am headed to Bimmerfest East with another X5M in tow in New Jersey on Saturday. I know you are going (Gatoferoz25) to be there and I just got a PM from Cattivo, who is also going.

Got my G5 controller and revised tune from Active Auktowerkes, just in time for Bimmerfest EAST!

During my LED headlight conversion, I had my X5M in the BMW service dept to attempt to code them. While it was there, the tech updated the entire vehicle to the latest software, including an ECU flash. However, this also wiped out my tune! The G5 handheld tuner would not recognize the ECU after the flash and would not allow me to re-install the tune. So, I had to send it back to AA and they, in turn had to send it back to the manufacturer in Italy for a complete reset. In the meantime, I've been driving around with downpipes on the base tune (with a check engine light) for a few weeks. We were fighting a deadline and Pedro from AA worked with me to be sure that I was able to get the correct tune installed in time for the show.

Kudos to everyone involved that helped correct the issues and make this happen!

Good info here. I have a new handheld in route from Omar so I think I will at least get the new FRM installed and all software updated to the latest version before hooking up the tuner. It's going to be weird not having a tune for a bit lol...
