New 2011 X5 i35d ordered !
Hey all,
First off great forum. I got so much useful info before the purchase. (from here and xoutpost.com) 2011 X5 i35d Build Alpine White Black perforated Nevada leather - Premium package - Technology package - Cold weather package - Premium sound package - Rear climate control package - Active ventilated seat package - Convenience access key - Space saver tire - Matte roof rails - Running boards Originally I didn't want to get cold weather package but when the order was submitted the factory said theres a restriction. If i wanted the active ventilated seats i "HAD" to get the cold weather package. Kinda sucked but paid an extra $305. The total car price w/ all options was only $215 OVER INVOICE cost ! In addition, applied the $3,500 eco-credit PLUS $1000 incentive BMW Ultimate drive event. So that should be $4285 UNDER invoice before tax, tag, title, etc... Yeah it took several trips and hours of negotiating to get the price down though. FYI, initial profit margin asking was $1599 over invoice. I thought about getting the smart phone integration + BMW apps but in the end the iPod USB cord should do almost everything except video play back right? .... And even with video playback you cant watch while vehicle is in motion so ... wasn't worth it to me. Car goes into production this Thursday ! .. Only 1 day after putting order in Cant wait till it arrives ! |

Actually I did. My first test drive i focused on mainly the drive and feel.
I didn't even consider premium sound pkg until i stumbled upon other threads pointing out that the base system was pretty crappy. On the standard system, I had the radio blasting with full bass turned up and it was "meh.. its... ok"... Then when i went to the other X5 with premium sound ...You can DEFINITELY tell a difference. The bass was night and day. It's not shake car window loud (which probably can do if you turn it real loud) but sounded a lot better for sure. Sound clarity was pretty noticeable too. I also read that aftermarket speaker options are slim due to the thin dimensions. I know there's companies out there that specifically make speakers/amps for BMW but ... i figured thats more hassle. |

Congratulations on your order. So is it an xDrive 35i or an xDrive 35d? There is no such thing as a i35d, it's either a diesel engine or a gasoline engine.

I'll bet he meant 35d....To bad you had to order CWP to get the ventilated seats, that's kinda dumb if you ask me..

Sorry my bad. Yeah its 35d - diesel.
Yeah it was either add the CWP for $305 (actually its $365 but SA added it after taxes so BMW pays that amount) and get the car in production this week (today) .... or wait a few weeks until the restriction was removed. |

Thanks for the added info on the standard stereo vs the premium... I will be adding premium sound for sure.
BTW did you happen to notice or know how many speakers the standard stereo comes with on the 35D? |
