What Did You Do To Your E70 Today?

Most forums have this thread, they usually do pretty well and have some interesting stuff. Even small things, pictures, anything!

I'll start it off...

I installed some heat wrap onto the crossover pipe that likes to crack from all the heat. Maybe it will help, maybe not. Might be worse! But it's supposed to reflect and protect, and I'm a believed with the tape on my intake pipes. They went from not being able to touch them to a cool to the touch feel.

I also got rid of the final thin hose clamp on the intake side... I kept ordering the wrong size t-bolt clamp...

Today I gave the M a thorough cleaning. Went over some mountain passes for work this week and needless to say it was the dirtiest any car I've ever owned was. Pic shows everything that washed off - the driveway isn't red that's just all the dirt they throw on the roads. Dirt baked onto the exhaust tips as well so polished those up after this pic.

Thanks man I'm loving the LED headlights as well! Wonder if the laser headlights will be on the new X5 M when it comes out. Now those are something to drool over!!!

This thread is an awesome idea. I'll eventually start a journal as I install all the mods I have lying around but this is good for the little things we tinker with day in and day out.

How did the install go? There are a couple small modifications that need to be made on the bumper bracket correct?

Need to get around to installing mine sometime soon but want to finish the catch can first so I avoid spraying the new clean ic down with oil!

It took me about 4 hours from start to finish I did have to do some trimming with a dremel, it honestly wasn't to bad, it just requires some patience lol I had my brother in law help half way through which made it much easier! They make catch cans for the M57??

ATM had sent me a PDF on the modifications, it didn't look bad at all. Glad to hear it was straight forward for you. Did you end up doing their ASV elbow as well?

No kits made for the M57 but will be plumbing in a Provent 200 with a custom PCV plate to run an elbow fitting off of.

Here are the parts I have on hand so far:

MANN Provent 200 - 3931070550
MANN Provent Check Valve - 2400843621
Moroso Dry Sump/External Oil Pump Fittings - 22622
Fragola Performance Push-Lite Hose Ends - 209016-BL
Fragola Performance 16AN bulkhead nut - 492416-BL
Patrick Motorsports 24mm-ID Braided hose - 6ft - HAR 930 107 394 5M
HPS 32-37mm Stainless Steel T-Bolt Clamps x 4 - SSTC-32-37
Custom milled PCV plate

Check out this thread - 35d: adding crankcase breather oil separator

Still need to figure out what I'm going to do for the oil return. Wanted to do it in a cleaner way than a brass tee fitting JB welded into the middle of the dip stick line like was done in the thread so haven't ordered those parts yet.

Yes I got the ASV Elbow figured might as well do it too, ahhhh I will definitely look into that! Once you get around to it, if you get the chance to take pictures and any info that can help me do it to I would appreciate it! I'll probably get it done down the road as well! Not a fan of JB welding things either so I feel you lol

Swapped out the original X5M rear badge for an all black one. The //M was fading, so I thought I'd try a different look.

Rear brakes on my wife's 35D and admiring the black emblem on the //M... The M3 has been a bit neglected lately, had to buy a battery tender for it yesterday as it was dead. Looking forward to some warmer days get some top down cruises in!

nice going guys, if somebody started this thread 3-4 years ago we would be on part 7 by now

anyway I took my car to town today, had to bring my gf's sun to bus station (college break is over) Boston streets are pretty tiny and half of those streets are brick sidewalks...

I'm flying to China in couple of days so I'll probably be MIA for couple of weeks...

cheers and Happy St. Patrick's day
