Why can't I reset the brake pad warning?
Using the cluster and it doesn't change/reset. I watched and followed a couple of Youtube videos.
Car is a 2010 X5M.

Either your wear sensor is bad or you need to change your brake pads. I'm leaning towards the wear sensor, happens all the time.

I replaced the pads and rotors about 3k miles ago. I didn't replace the wear sensor as I thought it has not stripped yet.

You can stick a wire in the vehicle end of the connector to replicate a new sensor and then reset the warning on the dashboard. But this is only temporary fix as the brake warning will come back soon (xxxx miles) after reconnecting the bad sensor. |
