it's not 90 seconds, more like 15-20, quite down after that, I'm of the opinion that deleting the cold start cycle might do more bad than the small benefit of not having a loud cold start, we simply do not know what other functions are programmed into the cold start cycle

I'm looking to pick up an X5M and have been lurking for awhile (using this as my first post count). I don't see obvious performance differences in the different tunes but I definitely see price differences.

I have the Velos stage II...
and I am completely satisfied and happy with it.
No issues at all, very easy to install and good customer service as well. I only wish they could cancel out the speed limit warning....

I believe that in some countries, (UAE for example), car makers must have a warning above a certain speed (120 kph).
Someone from that part can chime in. |

Money and support aside... Are these even? it would appear that the Velos tune also alters the trans tune whereas the AA site doesn't suggest they do the same.

We do not modify the trans ECU. Other changes are made in the ECU that have an impact on how the shifts feel but we do not make anything changes to the transmission ECU on this platform . |

I don't mean to be thread-jacking, but...
I tried everything via Idrive and I still get the annoying "alert" at 120 kph, and yes, my car is Euro spec...
I believe I need to code it out... Anyway, back on topic... when you say "money and support aside", you are putting aside a very big and determining factor and I believe this is more important that which tune makes say 5 more hp than the other... Good luck.

Get the Active Auto Werks those guys are awesome to work with. And honestly even their tune is over priced at around $ 1124.00.
http://store.activeautowerke.com/col...mance-software Velos is twice the price,.....not worth it. $ 1995 http://velosdesignwerks.com/product/...software-2015/

AA tune is showing up at $899 or are you referring to tax / cable etc?
$899 seems like a decent price.

Finally got around to posting. I've been member for a few months, lurking, reading etc about the differences etc as I'm a relative newbie to X5M. Had a M5 previously. I'm not a mechanic and don't plan on tracking my X5M. I can say that the beast feels unleashed after I uploaded Velos stage II even though I have my winter tire set on. I was a little nervous during upload process as all kinds of warnings and failure notices were going off. Follow the directions on provided USB. If I can do this, anyone can. Smoother shifting is noticeable and feels stronger in acceleration in all gears. Haven't tested the speed limiter (yet). I think this tune was well worth the money, especially during holiday pricing. Omar and Albert were available every time I called. I do like the option to return to stock for some unknown reason. Never been much of a "tuner" but now have the bug.

Just Installed Velos Stage 2
Just ordered and installed the Velos Stage II on my 2013 X5M. All i can say is holy hannah, this thing is now a beast. The acceleration and shift response is unbeleivable. I highly recommend this product. Although I was nervous of uploading a tune to the car myself, i can say that Omar was extremely helpful and walked me through the process. It was simple and very well worth it!
