OBD II "Can't Link" X6M
I have a 2012 X6M.
Over the past few weeks, I've had multiple "limp modes" happen when I've floored it both in "M" mode and in Standard mode. Now the CEL is on. My OBD II scanner, which works on every car I own, shows "Can't Link". I've plugged it in with the car off, inserted the key, and even tried starting the car with it still plugged in. It keeps giving me "Can't Link" Dealer said they've never heard of an update to the car to stop the encryption to the ODB II scanner (if that's even a thing). Any help is appreciated. |

Wired? Bluetooth? Wifi? There are millions of OBDII scanners.. some more info might help. Likely it's just flat out incompatible. On my X6M I've noticed they either work or they don't. Its a waste of time trying to troubleshoot when they don't. From a "read" perspective, I've had better luck with a cheap $9 blue "ELM327 compat" from Amazon than I've had with the vGate/Carista bluetooth ones.
